Brian Zehetner from Fueling Performance talks to us today about Cardio.
Excellent
"Do what you like"....sounds like great advise to me. Thanks for posting .....look forward to the next one.
Thanks Brian!
Great advice! Lately, I've been trying to incorporate different types of cardio into my workouts. Doing the same thing all the time gets boring and ur body probably gets used to it and it becomes less challenging, so I try to mix it up. Take care and thanks again for ur knowledge! xoxo

Haha yea Brian you do look
Haha yea Brian you do look pretty wasted in the homepage video blog pic but great blog you clearly know what your talking about...would it be interval training if I was boxing fast paced on a boxing bag and every 10-15 minutes switching to jump roping? Thats what I have been doing.
Intervals
Hey Man,
Yes, that is a form of interval training...
Jumping rope is a crazy form of cardio too...incredibly challenging as the duration goes up and an excellent calorie burner as well.

sooo then...
i was just thinking about doin some aerobic rowing on my bowflex....how long would you reccomend doing it....and how much resistance should i use???
Rowing
Whatever resistance you can handle for a good solid workout. Try for 30 minutes and then switch to another piece of cardio equipment for a little cross-training.
Otherwise, go for 45 minutes if you can...hopefully you have a TV in front of you or at least an iPod.

Haha! He said oscillate!
For everyone else out there... i strongly believe in his theory behind Oscillating Training ;), or aka, interval training.
A refresher summary [abstracted from Brian's Video]:
+Pick the cardio you want to do
+The more muscle tissue you move, the more calories you burn
- if you pick an elliptical, pick one with moving arm bars
+ Oscillating (Interval) Training is among the best methods to burn fat
+ 45 minutes to 60 minutes is excellent for your cardiovascular system (heart, lungs), and skeletal muscle tissue
+ Keep aerobics to a minimum if you're trying to put on mass
- definitely it's important to keep your heart healthy, but just do a little less
+ Keep your joints healthy, and get them healthier
- pick machines that are much less load bearing on your joints such as ellipticals, bikes, rowing machines, swimming
-will
