Dorian Yates demonstrates the single arm dumbbell row, a staple exercise for developing a strong and defined back. You don't need to work with a lot of weight on this one, the key is to perform a controlled movement with a good contraction. Just remember, if you look like you're trying to start a lawnmower, you're probably not performing the exercise correctly!

Great exercise, I think this is part of the reason I have a developed serratus anterior? Perhaps? Someone mentioned (or maybe I read somewhere) that this exercise helps with the serratus. As I do not do any other exercises to specifically isolate my serratus, unfortunately our dumbells only go up to 100lbs so I end up incorporating this exercise in my routine as part of a superset with lower lat rows (one armed on cable machine).

Then in 6 weeks when I change my routeine i'm gonn add in the deadlist, bent over row and something else.
Good video, really enjoying the videos of dorian yates and you two.
Yo man same here but...
instead of doing the one arm dumbbell row, I'll do a standing dumbbell row for both arms.
By the way this is a GREAT exercise. Thanks a lot myfittribe.com
