Guestbook

My life revolves around fitness, nutrition & health. I discovered weight training in highschool, then after highschool I fell in love with bodybuilding. Its a very disciplined, committing lifestyle, and requires the uptmost dedication, especially the diet aspect. Which for the record does not mean "to lose weight" ;) It's the type of palate of food that you eat on a regular basis.

My love for the human body, and the extreme challenges that bodybuilding posess, lead me towards physical therapy. I'm not one to ever use drugs and medicine and always feel that you can cure and heal yourself naturally by proper nutrition and exercise. Of course drugs have their plays in the field of life, especially emergency situations, but for the most part, our aspirin gobbling, tylenol PM medicinal nation doesn't need all those drugs, in fact they really make you worse off sometimes :).

I'm big into everything about the body, which as I mentioned, is why I'm studying Physical Therapy and going for my Doctorate (after I finish my BA's). I love to help people, especially with weight training and exercise or "Personal Training".

So please feel free to ask me questions about diet & nutrition, or how to achieve a physique that you really want!

Hey Ryan

thanks for stopping by my blog, and recommending p90x. I also read your "beginner's guide" for JJ, and thank you for some great tips.

I see you like pancakes. *sigh*. So do I. Here is a recipe for some that provide 15.7 carbs, and 14 grams of protein per serving. It's a "south beach" recipe, but a good one, if you want a protein punch to your pancakes.

Ingredients
4 egg whites
1/4 cup low fat cottage cheese or fat-free cottage cheese (tofu can be used)
1/2 cup old-fashioned oatmeal, uncooked
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions
1In a blender or a food processor, blend together all ingredients until smooth.
2Spray a medium sized skillet with cooking spray and set heat to medium.
3Add the pancake batter to skillet and cook until sides are lightly browned.
4Top with a low sugar syrup, trans free butter and/or a few sprinkles of a sugar substitute and serve with fresh fruit; blueberries or strawberries go nicely.

Serving Size 1 (117g)

Recipe makes 2 servings

Hi Willy
The answer was too long so I posted it as a blog. Here is the link:
http://www.myfittribe.com/blogs/dr-sean/20090114/questions-about-soy-pro...

Hi Willy
Thanks for the question. I really think Soy gets blown out of proportion. My first question to you is why are you concerned about soy. Is it b/c of the studies regarding sperm count or possible antiestrogenic effects. If so these are both minimal. If soy was a powerful anitestrogen I would prescribe it to my menopausal patients for hot flashes but it is not. Let me know what area u are concerned about so I can share some studies with you.
