A Little About Me
I work out about 5 times a week but my first love is the martial arts. I made it half way to my black belt before I had to move to the USA. Our class really focused on physical condition for tournaments and overall health - we had a lot of fun without really noticing that we were "exercising". I have yet to find a school in my area that is fun but ALSO takes it seriously instead of some baby sitting service with adults as an after thought.
At first I didn't like going to the gym. But I made myself research and figure out how to do weights and cardio. I also researched Hypertrophy Specific Training and printed up a goal plan. I change it every 6 weeks to keep my workout interesting so I don't get bored. And of course I watch the videos on this website because they give you ideas and new things to try.
Keeping it fresh and giving yourself goals to work towards makes going to the gym interesting rather than a chore.
My hobbies are costume design and modeling. I try to keep in shape to ensure that my hobbies work out the way I enjoy them and also to live a happier life.
When I Started Working Out
September 1999How I Started
Signed up for Karate then later the gymWhy I Love It
Improves self esteem and self confidenceHow I Stay Motivated
I'm always on modeling sites networking with photographers for my hobby. I look at some of the hot bods there and realize I really don't want to get fat or I'd feel bad about myself. My Worst Injury
Almost broke my fingers - it was my own fault for blocking a kick without making a total fist.
I Would Love To Meet
Other martial artists and Jamo. I know Jamo could make working out fun but alas, we live on opposite ends of the country. He has a fantastic body!
Goals
Main Goal
To stay in good shape and feel good about myself. I will never be fat.Short Term Goal
To get lean down to 15% body fat. I've already lost about 13 pounds. Just got back into Karate so I need to get caught up in my forms, technique, sparring and endurance.Long Term Goal
My biggest long term goal is to get my black belt in the next 3-4 years. My side long term goal is getting great legs. My body likes to store it's fat in my thigh area. It's completely genetic. I can loose 20lbs and 3 inches off my waist but my thighs will not lose even an inch. Everyone says "you look fine". That's great but I am not worried about what other people think or feel; I know how *I* feel and I don't like it. I really want to lose the weight there and have my legs look more in proportion with the rest of my body. They make me look short and squat when they are big. Concerning the rest of my body, I feel that I look fine. Could use some more tone. It will take me a while to do this. It may not happen with the first 18 lbs. We shall see when we get there.Bodyfat Goal

Bodyparts (Opposite Sex)
I love 6 packs on men. Nice pecs are also nice.
Bodyparts (Yours)
Love my abs, they have always been flat and get nice tone when my body fat goes down. I can actually see them. I have never had a beer belly or a girl belly, even when I weighed 135lbs.
Fortunately, I don't have to "try" to make this area work, it just does. Thank you genetics?
Exercises
I try not to get stuck on one exercise because it's very easy for me to do. I can get into a habit or routine and go like that forever. Unfortunately my body loves to plateau. So I have switch it around every 6 weeks.
Healthy Foods
Strawberry Spinach Salad w/low fat feta cheese
Low fat cheese in general. I could eat stacks of it all day but then it would be a junk food hahaha
Apples with cinnamon - heated in the microwave for 30 seconds
Low fat/sugar Yoghurt
Low fat Cottage Cheese
Black beans and wild rice
Home made chiliNot So Healthy Foods
Potatoes - served any way you name it. Tater Tots, Fries, Mashed, Stuffed Baked. Lots of salt and cheese and gravy. Rawr.
Also addicted to sweets/desserts. Though I'm picky, it has to be worth it if I'm going to eat it.Supplements
I'm interested in trying some sort of fat burner (no caffeine) Might try green tea.
Cranberry Suppliments (had to take a break from them due to Interstitial Cystitis)
Probably should take some vitamins >.>Hobbies

Tuna is a great source of protein and low in carbs. If you can stand the taste.....
I tried eating regular canned tuna and simply couldn't get around the nastiness and the fishy taste. I don't know how to prepare it to make it better but I've tried a few things and failed LOL If you can eat the stuff this way it's probably better than what I'm going to offer but here is one for those of us who turn their nose up at regular packaged tuna.

Great to meet you too! Keep up the good work!
