When I Started Working Out
I was back in High school when I started weight training for Track & fieldHow I Started
I joined a gym because I was too weak to compete against the older guys in the throwing events since my injuries then didn't allow me to raceWhy I Love It
Weight training has allowed me to meet interesting individuals & it forced me into a lifestyle that I absolutely love. I'm totally facinated with how my body can change with the "right" combination of dieting, training & restHow I Stay Motivated
It's always easy to constantly push through the discomforts of training when you have a goal in mind. The foundation for my motivation revolves around competition, period! Plus, a little attention helpsMy Worst Injury
There are 2 that come to my mind... I was between the ages of 13-15 when my knees hurt so much, I couldn't compete in track for 2 years. Then I had to play catch-up once I hit high school. The other injury happened when I was in University, in training. I tore several connective tissues from the right side of my spine while training for the hammer throw. I was more pissed since I couldn't compete for the rest of the season... especially since I was going after my National record in the discus that year! I ended up in the hospital on some HEAVY pain killers... which I threw away after 2 days.
