A Little About Me
I've been pleased and proud to help Jamo and the JamCore Training Team work through how to bring Jamo's amazing vision for fitness to the Web, homes, offices and iPods.
When I Started Working Out
Hmmm, well technically it all goes back to physical education in elementary school...How I Started
I've never been a big "workout" person. Fitness for me is a social and fun thing, so I started to get into fitness in conjunction with things I discovered I like, including sailing, biking, swimming, soccer and raquetball. Why I Love It
Staying fit helps me perform better mentally, sets a good model for my daughter, and keeps me able to do the things I like to do without fear of injury or physical difficulty. How I Stay Motivated
My daughter and I work out together. My Worst Injury
The worst thing that ever happened was breaking my arm in high school wrestling. But the thing that impacted me the most and showed me how I needed to focus on injury prevention was slipping on some stairs and badly spraining my ankle.
I Would Love To Meet
I've been lucky enough to meet many of the people who have inspired me, including Jamo and even Governor Schwarzenegger. But I wouldn't mind hanging out with sailing rockstar Paul Cayard or the woman who has been the inspiration for my daughter with soccer, the amazing soccer goal-scorer Mia Hamm.

Bodyparts (Opposite Sex)
You kidding? Everything's a favorite.
Bodyparts (Yours)
I always thought my legs were the strongest and best, but I've been impressed how sailing (and being a dad) has really strengthened up my hands, arms, shoulders, chest and upper back.
Exercises
I really prefer doing sports to exercises, but one of my full-on favorite exercises is what Jamo calls the plank--on your elbows and toes in push-up position and hold for as long as you can. Super simple, can do it anywhere, and great for core strength.
Healthy Foods
I love cooking, so here's my special tip if you like pasta. You know how a lot of whole wheat pasta feels and tastes as if it's been made out of sawdust? I really dig the whole wheat linguini from DeCecco. It's even got more fiber and protein than Japanese soba buckwheat noodles. Boil it up (do add some salt to the boiling water to bring out the flavor of the pasta), and toss it with basil and some olive oil in which you've sauteed some garlic and tiny cherry tomatoes. Yum!
Not So Healthy Foods
I'm a sucker for a McDonald's double quarter pounder with cheese from time to time...
Supplements
Whey protein and ground flaxseed.
Hobbies
Sailing, coaching soccer, biking, swimming and tennis from time to time, writingMagazines
The Economist, The Week, Sail, Sailing, Practical Sailor
Books
I haven't written one yet, but I have some ideas.
Workout Music
Usually I'm not organized enough to bring music with me, but either some dance/trance stuff or a variety of classic+alternative rock with some hip hop thrown in.
