I was at the gym, hopped on the treadmill, which I don't do a whole lot, but I wasn't training with my trainer today. Thought maybe I'd catch up on some current events and news while running on the treadmill. Well, what do you suppose is on just about every TV? If you guessed Politics, Bingo!

Let's begin with my motto's: "

You can do anything you put your mind to if you want it bad enough and are willing to put a plan together to make it happen, then stick to it. Don’t be afraid to throw yourself out of your comfort zone. Guaranteed if you do, it will bring positive experiences.
I was born and raised in Ohio and during college I gained the typical "Freshman 15". After college I realized that is not how I was supposed to look and within 3 years after graduating from college I gradually lost 25 pounds by incorporating a healthy lifestyle. From there, I just kept striving for the next level because I liked the results, both physically and mentally. I now weigh the same as I did when I got my first driver’s license over 20 years ago and I feel great!
I have lived in Scottsdale, AZ for the past 14 years and I have a full time career as an accountant. Even though my career isn't in the fitness industry, I pride myself on my commitment of incorporating fitness and healthy eating into my daily life and that in itself is a full time job! I want to strive to be in the best shape ever, continually building upon all my years of hard work. I want to live by example to help motivate others and show that being healthy is a lifestyle and can be very rewarding.
I model as a hobby and recently got into competing in fitness model competitions, which I took first place, and are listed below. I am actively pursuing other fitness modeling opportunities as well as fashion modeling, commercials, and fitness videos.

Goals
Main Goal
I want to strive to be in the best shape ever, continually building upon all my years of hard work and constantly learning about exercise and nutrition, and continue to meet great people!Short Term Goal
For the remainder of 2008: The next 6 months I am focusing on NETWORKING and getting my name and face out there! I am actively pursuing fitness modeling jobs, that include photo shoots, videos, and finding a sponsorship program. I want to be in fitness magazines, and I currently have 2 interviews in the works to be featured in national magazines. I have 2 more competitions I am planning on entering in the fall, so building muscle mass is my goal for those.Long Term Goal

hmmm, I get a lot of compliments on my legs, then abs (when preparing for a show!)
Exercises
In the gym, for cardio, I do a variety of machines such as treadmill, stairstepper, or bicycle. The key is to not just get on those and ride for 30-40 min while listening to music or watching tv, it really takes focus to get an intense workout! I try to do interval drills where I speed up/sprint, then slow down etc. so that I am burning the most calories in the shortest amount of time. In the weight room, I do a variety of exercises, lots of walking lunges, squats, basically everything! When I am with my trainer, she has me focusing more on light weights/high reps in order to tone. I do a lot of pulses at the end of my sets, to really feel the burn!
Healthy Foods
Chicken, Talapia, Tuna, Oatmeal, Yams, Brown rice, Asparagus, Spinach, brussel sprouts, SALSA. I have recently gotten into eating Artichokes! I did the research and it came out on top nutrionally, with all it's carbs consisting of Fiber! These are great in the last weeks of preparing for competitions!
Not So Healthy Foods
Fat Free Frozen Yogurt, Fat Free Whip Cream, Fat Free Cheese, (well you get the picture, I eat too many fat free foods, which is NOT good!?), Pretzels, Hot Tamales, Coffee, and of course all the other bad stuff one could possibly eat! I am ADDICTED to PEANUT BUTTER!! and that sometimes fits in with "Healthy" Foods, but not in the quantities I'd like to eat!

Hobbies
I enjoy so many different activities such as Mountain Biking, Hiking, Running, Quading in the Dunes, Snowskiing in Vail, waterskiing, trail running, scuba diving, and even white water rafting! I love the outdoors and nature, oceans, palm trees, and mountains! Love to shop as a hobbie too! And READ, I read a LOT of magazines and online articles and websites about health and fitness.Magazines
