A Little About Me
Hi! My name is Marissa. I'm not a body builder or a trainer or anything else in the fitness world...I just enjoy staying in shape. Fitness is just part of my lifestyle, my passions lie elsewhere -- namely, kids with hearing impairment and mission work in third world countries. For me, working out is a stress relief and a good way to condition for rock climbing -- in all honesty, I like climbing up anything that presents a good challenge, requiring technique, finger grip, leg strength, and back muscles. Getting to the top of a tough climb always gives me a huge sense of accomplishment. For that reason, I never really understood hiking --isn't it just walking up hill?
Ultimately, I live my life with the goal of bringing glory to God and striving to know Him more. I wouldn't be who I am or where I am now without Him. When I Started Working Out

After I quit dancing, I needed something to fill the void for physical activity. I joined the boy's weight lifting class in high school and progressed from there to yoga and rock climbing and running.Why I Love It
I love the feeling of sore muscles after a hard workout...knowing that I did something good for my body and I'm stronger because of it.How I Stay Motivated
Motivation isn't usually an issue, as working out is kind of routine for me. It's great knowing people and having friends that you see routinely at the gym or on your running path. If I fall off the wagon for an extended period, living in a constant swimsuit season motivates me to get back on schedule.My Worst Injury
I broke my arm when I was in kindergarten, falling off a swing, but I don't think that counts. So, I would say.....a broken ankle from dancing.
