A Little About Me
I think my intro covered most things about me. Other than stating explicitly that my purpose for being here is to destroy all your childhood fantasies about training.
When I Started Working Out
I was 12, and found some weights laying around outside. I picked them up and moved them around, and liked it. From then until I was around 18, I was the typical Ronnie-worshiping gym weenie, doing 20 sets 3 times a week for my biceps and not understanding why it wasn't packing on the mass. How I Started
Just those few free weights I had laying on the ground around my place. Thats it. Over the years, I saved up all my money and spent it on various workout machines designed to train "parts" of you that conventional weights supposedly couldn't. I was just as clueless as anyone... until I found Dr Hatfield...Why I Love It
Its what I was put on earth to do. Its part of who I am.How I Stay Motivated
Every time I help a young person realize that there IS a rhyme and reason to training, that he CAN understand it, and divert him away from becoming another roid monkey... or anytime I teach an older athlete who's been on the same platue for 10 years and help him break it, that brings me all the joy I need to stay motivated. My Worst Injury
I broke a nail once. Hurt like hell.
I Would Love To Meet
God.

Exercises
Squats have been called "the king of exercises" for a reason.
Healthy Foods
McDonalds. No, srlsy, its the best weight gainer available, and it contains all the calories, carbs, proteins, and fats needed to grow. Plus it taste awesome. Just be sure you balance out those bad fats with good fats.
Not So Healthy Foods
Carrots and celery. Who ever got big off eating grass? Well a cow maybe... but are you a cow??? Dont answer that.
The "health" of a food really depends on your training objectives. McDonalds is about the best place you can go if you're trying to pack on the mass. Salads and other such are better if you're trying to cut fat.

Food, water, creatine, protein, msm, hmb, trymethylaxine, glutamine, leucine, isoleucine, valine, omega acids, feverfew, garlic, oh, god, why, are, you, still, reading, this.

My name is Kasey Akira. I have more than 6 years of hands on medical experience and study in the field of exercise science and kinesiology. I'm a specialist in fitness science, and have degrees sports medicine, martial arts conditioning, plyometric science, bodybuilding science, and specialization in fitness supplements. I've trained athletes from all over the world and from all walks of life, including hopefuls for the Olympics as well as professional athletes, celebrities, soldiers, and martial artist. I was a lecturer of Advanced Kinesiology at Santa Monica College where I also lectured to medical doctors. I was also a gym and fitness center advisor for several gyms throughout Penang, Malaysia, and have traveled the world working for various gyms, fitness centers, and health clubs.
About me personally: I'm 25, married, Theravada Buddhist, and newly recovered from a neurological disorder that nearly took my life and left me bedridden for several months. I've lost almost all my training progress through the ordeal, but am considering to start training again.
I'm a very no-nonsense person when it comes to fitness. What most people fail to understand is that fitness is a SCIENCE, and like any other science, there are laws that predict and govern how it works. An object will remain in motion until an outside force causes it to stop, electricity will always take the path of least resistance, and every object that has mass also has gravity as an inherent property. These are laws of the universe, and are not open for interpretation; they work the way they work, regardless of what someone's opinion of them may be. Fitness works the same way, and there are laws governing how muscles act, react, and behave under a given set of circumstances.
Now with that said, let it be known that I'm about to become the most hated OR loved person on internet fitness, because if you are wrong, I will let you know immediately that you are wrong. I'm going to point out what works, what does NOT work, and the why where and how for both. So get ready.
