A Little About Me
Jay Cardiello is best known as the secret weapon that celebrities and athletes alike call on when they
need to be in their best shape possible. Through years of honing his skills in both the athletic arena and
with Hollywood’s top celebrities, Jay is now sought after as the best kept secret for peak physical form
and performance. Jay has worked with such celebrities as: Kyan Douglas, Beri Smithers and Tiki Barber
to name a few. He is just off of a year with rap music superstar 50 Cent.Jay Cardiello began his own athletic career at the age of 10 when he enrolled as a student of Shito-Ryu
karate. He found early fame in the martial arts with 5 state and regional championships, numerous
national championships and 1 international win in his 7 year career. After karate, Jay moved on to Track
and Field in college. There he experienced the highest level of success as a member of the Razorbacks
- 1996 Division 1 National Championship Team, at the University of Arkansas. After a knee and back
injury forced him to retire he transferred to the College of William and Mary where he began
concentrating on his studies and coaching collegiate athletics. With his knowledge of athletics first
hand, he brought the school its first ever Female US National Triple Jump Qualifier. After graduating with
a BA in English, and with his coaching accomplishments paving the way, he was hired directly out of
college as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Arena Football League’s (AFL), New
Jersey Red Dogs. While at the Red Dogs, Jay was asked to serve as a Strength Assistant to the NFL’s
Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jay also spent a brief season with the XFL’s NY/NJ Hitmen and the Cincinnati
Reds in Rookie Ball. By now Jay had made quite a name for himself and had become a force in the
“Strength World”. In 2001, Jay was hired by former Cruiser Weight World Champion, Al “Ice” Cole and
then he moved forward to Head Strength Coach for Heavy Weight Champion, Jameel “Big Time”
McCline's World Championship Title Fight against Chris Byrd.Jay spent 5 years in boxing before moving to Clay Fitness in NYC where he launched his dynamic NFL
Training Camp that was written up in the New York Times as well as featured on EXTRA. There he
developed a cult-like following amongst his clients and class goers. It was while at Clay that he met 50
Cent. He has spent the last year on tour training 50 Cent for his concerts, photo shoots, music videos
