A Little About Me
Who is David?
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Currently lives in Colorado with his wife and two children, a dog, 2 cats, 4 guppies, and one really big horse.
Here’s the list of abbreviations for your reading pleasure: Educated at NYU, UAB, the OGI, has a license in PT, is a COMT and a CSCS. He passed the Series 7 and 66, is an Investment Advisory Representative, holds licenses in Life and Health Insurance for Colorado (and a few other states), and currently practices as a Wealth Advisor specializes in working with charities and high net worth families to facilitate planned giving and estate planning.
Is a patented inventor.
Reads a lot. On the magnitude of 5-7 books per week. Every week. Really.
Loves to fly fish (moving water), practice and perform close up magic (cards and mentalism are favorites), play guitar (electric and acoustic, though electric is more natural), write, hold seminars (on any of a variety of topics of interest), and enjoy good conversation with close friends. Also an avid exerciser, a martial artist with 24 years of experience learning and teaching, loves watching movies, and spends as much time as he can with his family.
Entrepreneurial by nature - and a Renaissance Soul to boot. Currently owns 2 businesses.
A pretty friendly guy. Want to know something, just ask.
When I Started Working Out
Started studying martial arts when I was about 15 years old, and got into the gym (resistance training) a year later. How I Started
In my basement with my dad.Why I Love It
The lifestyle, constantly performing a living experiment, the challenge, and the way it lets me live. How I Stay Motivated
It's not about motivation. It's about making a choice and a commitment based upon my values. My Worst Injury
Not sure if this was an injury or not (the doctor's could never really tell me why it happened): I suffered from a massive blood clot that resulted in my hospitalization (for 4 days) and was the closest I've been to dying in my life. It took 6 months of recovering and rehab until I could walk without any help (i.e. crutches or a cane) and 2 years until I could walk 1 mile without excruciating pain. It took another 2 years until I could do whatever I wanted pain free. Today, all I'm left with is a slightly enlarged left calf and some skin discoloration. Oh, and this story.
I Would Love To Meet
Anyone who lives with passion and is willing to share themselves and their wisdom with others.
Goals
Main Goal
To find and live my purpose.Short Term Goal
To spend quality time with my family at will.Long Term Goal
Same as my main goal.Bodyfat Goal
I bounce up and down between 6% and 12%. My goal would be to stay at the lower end.Weight Goal
I have none.Favorites
Bodyparts (Opposite Sex)
Hard to choose.. so many wonderful parts!
Bodyparts (Yours)
If we're talking about what I like to work - then I'd say back and triceps are the most fun. If we're talking about what I like... Well, as long as my body does what I want it to, I love all of it!
Exercises
Anything that works for my body.
Healthy Foods
Meat and fish.
Not So Healthy Foods
Apple pie and oatmeal raisin cookies.
Supplements
Fish oil, multi-vitamin and mineral, glucosamine sulfate, protein powder before and after workouts.
Hobbies
Fly fishing, playing guitar, reading, martial arts, target shooting (hand guns), inventing, learning.Magazines
I don't read magazines.
Books
If you really want to know, you'll have to ask (too many to list).
Workout Music
I don't listen to music when I work out. It distracts me.
