A Little About Me
I'm a former model, singer and fitness enthusiast during the time I lived in New York City. Today I am a mother of one 16-year old son and I work for myself from home. I have two websites that occupy most of my time. One is a health and fitness site, the other a live advice (spiritual) site, which I have owned and operated now for over 9 years.
I do have to admit in the past two years I have gained some weight and I'm having a little trouble staying focused like I use to. In the past, there is no way I would not know where the nearest gym was nor would I miss a workout. I don't like the recent weight gain, I still have quite a bit of muscle but what I'm looking for is motivation. I have to say when I came upon My Fit Tribe, I sensed a pulse. It seemed alive, which is hard to do from a web page.
I'm here, I hope to make some friends and reclaim my former body, which I totally know is possible.

Well, right now that is the problem. I want my body back. Once you have a perfect body, you can never accept anything less. Currently, I'm disappointed. I want to change that and I want to change it now.My Worst Injury
Once while doing abductor exercises using the cables, I probably was not using good form in addition to having too much weight and I hurt my hip. I didn't need any physical therapy or anything but I had to lift my left leg for a while to get out of car manually. It took a year to heal....and I never used cables again for my abductors until recently in my home gym.

Right now my main fitness goal is to drop the extra LBs I've gained and to expose more muscle. Discover any issues that may be preventing me from losing weight or maybe it's just inconsistency.Short Term Goal

Exercises
I have almost a complete gym in my basement. It includes a Life Fitness gym, a treadmill, elliptical, weights, balls and workout floor. But it's lonely down there.
Healthy Foods
I love organic healthy foods. I shop at Whole Foods and a local organic health food store. I take regular supplements and a barley drink daily. I have found really tasty rice pastas I use now with my own sauces. I just love healthy foods.
Not So Healthy Foods
I have a sweet tooth sometimes when I eat wheat. I have discovered that wheat doesn't like me. Breads and pastas made with wheat cause me to bloat, slow down my metabolism and make me craves SWEETS. When I avoid wheat products, I lose weight faster but, hey, I'm going to eat some of the tempting pastas and breads sometimes. But not every day.
Supplements
I take barley green (big table spoon in carrot juice daily), omega-3's, bromelain, Tri-Boron and co-enzyme-Q10, and my beauty pill (hair, nails, etc.)

Workout Music
I love the big banging hip-hop music to workout to. If the music is not great, I can't workout. I've walked out of many aerobics classes because the music didn't do it for me.
