A Little About Me
My husband I a health club & spa for women in Vero Beach. I am also a fitness colunist and my husband is a trainer for weight loss reality TV. Our passion is encouraging and educating people toward a healthy lifestyle by sharing our own personal experiences. Many people think people in the fitness business were just born with extra workout genes, when in fact we are not much different than everyone else. The only difference between the fit and the unfit are the decisions we make. I don't always want to workout and don't always want to eat healthy, but most of the time I choose to workout and eat healthy whether I feel like it or not. My hope is, by sharing my own struggles with others I can encourage others to also succeed.
The biggest joy for me is that my career has recently affected my own family. I had the privilege to take in my younger sister at 13 to help her lose 50lbs. My mother followed her success and lost 90lbs. After my father saw what fitness was doing for them, he began bodybuilding at 57. Now fitness is a family affair for us all. My sister, AnnaLee (now 16), and my father work have joined us in our fitness adventure and work at our health club with Steve and I. When I Started Working Out
18How I Started
Worked at my first health clubWhy I Love It
I loved how it made me look and feel...duh! ;)How I Stay Motivated
I am not always motivated and can't rely on "feeling" like working out. I am only motivated by the results after I follow through. If I don't follow through, I'm rarely motivated at all. It's a matter of decision, not motivation to me.My Worst Injury
Bad knee irritated by running and training. It comes back occassionally and is caused by tight quadreceps that pull on the patella. If I keep my legs flexible it takes the tension off the knee cap so it can track properly. I hate stretching so I when it flares up - it's my own fault. This is super common and is often a simple fix for most.
I Would Love To Meet
Don't laugh, but I'd love to meet Richard Simmons. I think he has a big heart and that he got in the fitness business for the right reasons. I love that he has reached out to people that often get left behind. I admire him for that. I would also love to meet some of the original fitness gurus like Jack Lalanne and Jane Fonda.
Other than fitness heros, I'd love to meet Kelly Rippa and her husband Mark and Jada and Will Smith. I would also love to get my hands on some of Hollywood's fallen heros like Brittany Spears and others who seem to make incredibly unhealthy decisions. I wish I could be around those type of people to help impact their lives so they can positively impact their fans.

My husband's butt. He has fantastic legs too, but mostly I love his eyes and smile. As for others, I don't really look at bodies on men as much as I look at their face and smile.

Impacting Lives
Posted July 19th, 2008 by Bonnie PfiesterJoining MyFitTribe has been such a fantastic way to meet people with a healthy common interest. I know I have enjoyed being a part of this community so much. I have met a lot of great fitness professionals, competitors, models and just plain health nuts. I have also noticed there are a lot of people here just getting into a healthy lifestyle. People who are overweight, out of shape and some who just admire the fit because they aren't convinced fitness can work for them like it works for us.
