A Little About Me
I"m a simple man, with simple ways. Health and fitness are a large part of my life and have molded who I am today. Love my family and friends of whom are great people. Enjoy the company of good honest people and helping those who want to achieve a healthier lifestyle, no matter what their goal may be.
Although, my career path may seem to have nothing to do with my deepest passion. It is the other portion of my life where that allows my true character to unfold.
As a skinny, weak 14-year-old, I turned to weight training and strict discipline to become one of the strongest students by the senior year of high school. Desiring to learn more about strength and conditioning, I pursued a degree in Health and Exercise Science from Oklahoma University, eventually competing in my first NPC show. The combination of education and competition greatly influenced my desire not only to develop my body, but to help others attain their goals in health and fitness.
Learning first-hand about nutrition, exercise physiology, exercise testing, health fitness, health promotion, lifestyle intervention, and research experience gave me a strong foundation to implement changes in myself and others. Translating this knowledge into personal experience through competing and helping others in their pursuit of a healthier body and lifestyle has helped to refine this knowledge in applicable terms.

Power-Lifting
Posted November 15th, 2008 by B_brentWell, never in my life would I have thought to be smack dab in the middle of a powerlifting meet. Ever since I’ve changed my training method to more of a power lifting style, my absolute 1 RM has improved vastly in the squat, bench press, and dead-lift. Long story short, I entered in a power lifting meet (APF Texas Cup) on November 1st and to my surprise won the 181 lb class! Going in, I just wanted to put up some good numbers and PR’s but turned out it was good enough for a win. Ended up totaling 1,419 lbs (501 lb squat, 402 lb Bench Press, and 523 lb Dead-Lift).
