1. What two words best describe your build/physique/figure? Why?
Play Hard. My main goal when working out is to be able to play. I don’t want to miss out on anything. I love wake boarding, surfing, skiing, volleyball, running, etc. I love playing football with my boys, volleyball with my daughter and being able to give them a run for their money. Looking good and having a hard body is just a byproduct of staying active.
2. What part of your body deserves to be honored in the “Physique Hall of Fame?” Why?
The award goes to my Achillie’s Tendon. Well, it isn’t really mine; however, it was given to me after I tore mine clean off playing coed soccer 5 years ago. I am constantly amazed that it is so strong and carries me thought my workouts.
3. When did you first realize your body was sexy, appealing or exemplary?
I would have to say the first time a woman stated something to the effect of, “Wow you are an inspiration, I want to look like you.” Women are so much harder to please. We are hard on each other. I also know that it is other women older than me, looking better than me that inspires me to try harder.
4. In the quiet moment before you begin a workout, what’s the first thing that goes through your mind? And what is the last thing that goes through your mind as you conclude a workout?
My life is sooo busy with 5 teenagers, full-time work, and playing in my worship band that by the time I get to the gym I am already amazed with myself for making it. Usually my first thought is, “Girlfriend, you made it, now let’s Do Work!” When I am done, I feel a since of accomplishment and satisfaction.
5. Who is your physique/fitness idol or role model, and what body part would you steal from that person for a day?
I have more than one. When I started lifting weights 25 years ago, yikes, I wanted to be just like Rachel Mclish. She is absolutely beautiful! Most recently, I have been inspired by Jamie Eason and Gina Osterly. I would love to spend a day strutting around in any of their bums…
6. Who or what inspires you to accept the daily challenge of building your physique/figure?
My true motivation at this point in my life is to stay young. I would love to look and feel better at 40 than I ever have before in my life. I believe it is possible.
7. If someone wrote a book or song about your body, what would it be called?
”Fun, Fun, Here We Come!” You won’t find me sitting on the sidelines. I want to experience life and all the fun that comes with it.
8. Your name appears as an option on a restaurant menu, and you order the dish/beverage. What food/drink does the waiter deliver to your table?
Seaweed Sesame Salad. It won’t be the first thing you are drawn to on the menu, but once you have had a taste of its sweetness, you will keep coming back for more.
9. What would a talking mirror say about your body if you stood naked in front of it?
”Get out of here, girl, you don’t look a day over 20! Ha-ha….”
10. If you received the ultimatum: workout or die— but your other favorite thing was simply too hard to resist— what is that one other thing you love (besides loved ones, family, friends, etc.) so much that you would actually choose it over your “final workout?”
OK, so if I can’t say God, Family or Country, it has to be a purely pleasure moment that I am willing to die for, I would definitely pick a night out on the town with the girls dancing my bum off. I would do that over working out any day, ha-ha…
