1. What two words best describe your build/physique/figure? Why?
Shocking and Inked. When people see a 218-pound gorilla buying 5 dozen eggs and chicken in the supermarket, while wearing a cut-off Danzig T-shirt, well, they look at you like a bit of a freak.
2. What part of your body deserves to be honored in the “Physique Hall of Fame?” Why?
My biceps. They have very developed peaks and interesting art on them. People usually compliment the ink then they grab “the guns” and ask if I hit arms a lot.
3. When did you first realize your body was sexy, appealing or exemplary?
Being the only muscular kid in high school, coming in as a freshman and having the senior girls asking me to prom, I was being hated by the older guys and had to learn to defend myself real quick.
4. In the quiet moment before you begin a workout, what’s the first thing that goes through your mind? And what is the last thing that goes through your mind as you conclude a workout?
Before I start, I block anyone and everything out. Nothing exists— pretty girls, clients that see me after hours. When it’s my time to train, all I hear is Avenged Seven Fold blasting through my ears. Last thing that goes through my mind, “Time to eat!”
5. Who is your physique/fitness idol or role model, and what body part would you steal from that person for a day?
I would have to say my Coach Ed Torres, because he is so proportional. I would honestly want to steal his whole genetic makeup, because he has a well-rounded build, plus he has good training methods and is down to earth!
6. Who or what inspires you to accept the daily challenge of building your physique/figure?
The challenge of beating myself!! This is a tough game, as well as a tough lifestyle, and it’s always a race between me and only me. I like to change and look different every year.
7. If someone wrote a book or song about your body, what would it be called?
”The Pecs That Breaks Your Girlfriend’s Neck.” It would be a song 50-Cent would have to do.
8. Your name appears as an option on a restaurant menu, and you order the dish/beverage. What food/drink does the waiter deliver to your table?
A burger with a protein shake…and a plate of aminos
9. What would a talking mirror say about your body if you stood naked in front of it?
”No more ink, you already look like a freak. Quit scaring all the ordinary folks of this city.”
10. If you received the ultimatum: workout or die— but your other favorite thing was simply too hard to resist— what is that one other thing you love (besides loved ones, family, friends, etc.) so much that you would actually choose it over your “final workout?”
Honestly, I mention this all the time. I’d work on my 1970 Mach I. It’s the only time I have complete peace— no weights, no girlfriend, not thinking if I should go heavier— just me and the car and what I can get done in a day on that thing.
