- 1. What two words best describe your build/physique/figure? Why?
- "Malibu Barbie." Ever since my transition 6 months ago, friends, family and even strangers seem to have labeled me as this. My hair used to be black, but it is now long and blonde. I have very long, lean legs and am the classic ectomorph.
- 2. What part of your body deserves to be honored in the “Physique Hall of Fame?” Why?
- I would have to say my waist. It is literally 22" and especially when I diet for a competition, it even appears much smaller on stage. My shoulders too. My father was a swimmer so I have those classic wide shoulders and the tiny waist on stage.
- 3. When did you first realize your body was sexy, appealing or exemplary?
- The very first time I dieted for a show and saw the muscles instead of body fat. I saw my shapely body and definition and felt so sexy!!!
- 4. In the quiet moment before you begin a workout, what’s the first thing that goes through your mind? And what is the last thing that goes through your mind as you conclude a workout?
- At the beginning: “Focus on the mind/muscle connection.” At the end, all I can think is: "Thank God it's over!!!” LOL.
- 5. Who is your physique/fitness idol or role model, and what body part would you steal from that person for a day?
- Oh, that is sooo easy. Back when I started out, it was Debbie Kruck for sure!!! She was AND still is the most symmetrical and genetically gifted woman out there!!! She is the “wow” factor!!!!
- 6. Who or what inspires you to accept the daily challenge of building your physique/figure?
- Honestly, I can say now that it is "Janet Marsico." I want to get deep with this one, because I think it's important for people to know that people like us do have real problems and are not "perfect" all the time. What keeps me motivated is "ME" and here's why.
In 2008 alone, I had more challenges than a human should have. I went through a horrific divorce; my youngest daughter became extremely ill; I had to undergo treatment for skin cancer; then came down with Bells Palsey... BUT I continued to train because it was important to keep the natural endorphins going to keep my mind and body healthy. It was what kept me ticking and healthy through it all. It is what continually keeps me going. And through all that, I competed in the 2008 WNBF World Figure Championships and actually took first place!!! How's that for determination???!!!
- 7. If someone wrote a book or song about your body, what would it be called?
- “Your Body is a Wonderland.” LOL. Just like all the Girls of Muscle Ink!!!
- 8. Your name appears as an option on a restaurant menu, and you order the dish/beverage. What food/drink does the waiter deliver to your table?
- Beverage: Chardonnay. Food: Warm apple pie.
- 9. What would a talking mirror say about your body if you stood naked in front of it?
- “Well, hello there!!!”
- 10. If you received the ultimatum: workout or die— but your other favorite thing was simply too hard to resist— what is that one other thing you love (besides loved ones, family, friends, etc.) so much that you would actually choose it over your “final workout?”
- A shopping spree at Juicy Couture!!!
