When you are dehydrated, you are weaker. You wont be able to push that extra rep. You won't be able to run that extra 1/2 mile.

water transports all nutrients through your body, such as carbohydrates, protein and fats. Also water keeps your muscles hydrated through your routine so they can have a stronger contraction, helping you to use mroe weight or help you to do an exercices for a longer period of time.
