Hey, im 13 years old and im wondering if what im eating for breakfast everyday is healthy. I simply eat "honeynut"

cheerios with whole organic milk. Is what im eating ok? Does the honey affect the cereal in a bad way?

I would go with 1% milk.

I would go with 1% milk.

According to nutritiondata.com Honey Nut Cheerios Have 1 gram less fiber and 8 grams more sugar than normal Cheerios. I would go with normal Cheerios but its not going to make a huge difference. In the morning you need something that will get you out of the fasting mode that you go into while you sleep. As long as you are using the energy from the cereal and not letting it turn into fat, its fine.

But definitely at least switch to 2% milk, or 1% like I said before......I wouldn't do skim because you need some fat for energy.

if you eat normally you will

if you eat normally you will get enough fats by eating anything else... Bread contains a little bit of fats, eggs of course and for some people also peanut butter.. I would not be troubled with that.

Bu the way, to get energy it is better to eat a little bit more of the carbohydrates. And yes, i know fats have more then double the amount of calories per gram (9) and cabohydrates have only 4 calories per gram, however, your body still prefers to use the carbohydrates as energy.

I'm sticking to my guns that

I'm sticking to my guns that skim milk is too little fat for BREAKFAST, but it depends on what else you are eating, when you are eating, and how long its been since last time you ate.

honey is healthier then

honey is healthier then normal sugar, however this all depends on what time of the day you take it..

Since you are taking it with your breakfast, it isn't such a big deal because this will help you get your insuline up and help you get into an anabolic state.

If you would like to try something different you might try normal oatmeal with milk which is a good alternative.

also i would switch the whole organic milk for some low fat kinds..

Good Luck!
