getting back into it
Posted November 25th, 2008 by surfergirlhng10
I need a little advice, I haven't worked out much or hardly at all in the past few years. I just joined back up at my old gym, it's a old gritty gym. Anyway I just got over a two month illness, I had bronchitis. I love running, so a couple of times when I felt great I ran on the treadmill for a half hour at a low to moderate pace. The next day I felt the cold had gotten worst. I am finally taking antibiotics and feeling well, when do you think I get back into a high impact workout. I would appreciate any advice or opinions anyone can give me.

hey surfer!!
as soon as your stuffy nose and sinus are gone you shoudl be good to go.
rule of thumb, if your aches and pain caused by the cold are gone you should be fine to go.
Heres the trick, start slowly though, not only because you want to keep up your energy levels and immune system (by not fatiguing your body) but also because you ahvent worked out in a while.
hope that helps :)
working out helps boost the immune system, but be smart about it because of the time you've been away from the gym. pick lower impact machines for cardio, like the elliptical.
