i totally agree on the suger free gum, i also find that if the cravings get really bad, u can try having 2 strawberrys which r not that bad, i also find diet ice tea really sweet, so if u have half a glass it shouldn't b too bad!

If you get a candy craving

If you get a candy craving (specifically for a candybar) I suggest eating an Oh Yeah! wafer. There's 2 sticks to a pack, totaling 180 calories, 3g carbs and 2g sugar, and best yet, 15g protein! There's chocolate mint, chocolate chocolate and chocolate peanutbutter. They're really good and your craving will disappear instantly after just having one.

Cravings

I simply use sugar-free gum to combat my cravings for something sweet.

sugar free gum

sugar free gum is great because gum causes your body to think its about to have to digest food (due to the chewing) so it starts all the processes for digestion, which may or may not help you burn some extra colories.

this is never going to give you discipline, its pretty much cheating. when it comes to cravings, you just have to say "no." People constantly say im absolutely out of my mind because of the way i eat (mostly because since I'm a teenager, people expect me to eat junk like burger king, etc.). A few weeks ago I had ice cream for the first time in months. Yes, months. I actually enjoyed it much more than I ever enjoyed ice cream when I had it all the time.

You just have to gain discipline. After that you feel better mentally and physically. Mentally because you feel like you've accomplished something, and physically because you stop putting junk into your body.

Cravings suck!

The bottom line is that cravings just suck! That is why I advocate lots of long duration, moderate intensity cardio for weightloss rather than trying to starve and deny yourself the food your body craves. As Roma points out, eventually your body will stop craving those things, but in the meantime, it is HARD. I also find that things like protein shakes can be a satisfying, filling snack, although it's easy to overdo it with those too :-)

what helps me is my protein

what helps me is my protein shakes....they are flavored...or protein bars....
but really...the more you work out...and the healthier you eat....the more you rest....then your body dont really need all the sugar...like candy etc....your body naturally quit craving for stuff like that....thats my experience...but the protein shakes are a good way
