Bio
Bonnie Pfiester and her husband Steve, both Florida natives, have been married for fourteen years. In addition to being partners for life, they are also business partners, owning and operating Longevity Fitness Club and Spa in Vero Beach, Florida. There's no doubt Steve and Bonnie are passionate about helping others. You can't hide their enthusiasm for helping others toward a healthy lifestyle. Their love for fitness is practically contagious.

Steve and Bonnie believe the fitness industry can be intimidating, so they work hard to bridge the gap between the fit and unfit by reaching out to others . Whether it is supporting fundraisers, speaking at special events or replying to someone's personal email, both Steve and Bonnie do all they can to stay connected with people. "We really aren't in the fitness business, we are in the people business", says Bonnie Pfiester.

As a fitness columnist, Bonnie is able to get her message out to her community and across America. Steve is also impacting millions through weight loss reality television. Steve was co-host and trainer for ABC's Fat March and is now working on Bridal Bootcamp for Country Music Television. As both Steve and Bonnie spread their wings, they look forward to the opportunity to impact more lives as their audience continues to grow.

How I Started In Health and Fitness
"I worked in my first health club at age 18. My dad always had a home gym so fitness equipment wasn't new to me. Thinking back, I probably applied to work at a gym because I thought it was cool, but after I had my first few experiences actually helping people I was hooked. Before my husband and I got married we both talked about our dreams and goals, which was to own a health club and spa. After Steve graduated with his physical therapy degree we got our first opportunity to partner in a health club and we never looked back."
Why I Love It
"I don't know what I fell in love with most - how fitness made me feel or how it felt to help others. I was always a skinny beanpole with no shape so as soon as I got my first little bump and curve I started gaining a new confidence. I not only felt liked I looked better but I felt so much better too. Since I've always been a tomboy I also enjoyed the "tough" side of working out. I think every girl likes to feel powerful and tough at times - and working out gave me that feeling. Then once fitness changes you, it's only natural to want to help others have the same experience. There are few jobs out there where you can honestly help someone change their life forever. I realize I have that opportunity every single day. That's why I love it!"
How I Stay Motivated
"This is easy - I stay motivated by all the people who are watching me. I can't possibly let myself go and tell other people how to get in shape. As a gym owner and local fitness columnist I know people are looking at how I eat and what I do every single day. This applies to people outside of the fitness industry too. When you tell people you are on a diet, share your weight loss success story, or you just simply talk about going to the gym - you open up the opportunity to not only inspire people but hold yourself accountable too. My friend Bill Germanakos, Biggest Loser Champ, also recognized this opportunity telling me he purposefully puts himself out there, including guest appearances and public speaking, to help him stay on track. This is the only way I stay accountable too, otherwise I'd fail miserably because I really like being lazy and eating Mexican food!"
Fitness Resume
"Although I have been named Most Fit Health Club Professional by Club Solutions Magazine among other things, most of my fitness resume is comprised of public speaking, fitness modeling, spokesmodel work, writing and other fitness related roles."
Favorite Health & Fitness Products
"Some of my favorite supplements are American Whey protein powder, IsoPure Protein, Muscle Milk Light Bars, Kre-Alkalyn 1500, Tri-o-Plex protein cookies and brownies (yum!) and Hydroxycut. My favorite brand named diet food is NutriSystem - it's packed with protein and fiber plus it's lower in sodium than other pre-packaged foods. Valeo neoprene gloves are my favorite set of gloves on the market where Bodylastics are, hands down, the best set of bands available. The Signature Series from Life Fitness is my number one choice in commercial grade gym equipment and I also love their cardio as well. Last but not least, I have to put a big plug in for Cardio Theater because I couldn't last 10 minutes without it!"
Favorite Exercises
"Probably shoulders...although I can't say I love doing any exercises if I was totally honest. I also enjoy walking and jogging with my mom because I enjoy the time I spend with her and the benefits of doing the exercise - not necessarily the exercise itself."
