Feet hurt...
Posted August 19th, 2008 by willbefit
Being that is just over a month until my goal date. My trainer has really been pushing me the last week or two. When doing legs, he has really been pushing me. He no longer lets me choose the weight. He sets it for me. After watching one of the videos with Jamo and Sagi doing legs, I remember Jamo saying to make sure to push with the heels to keep the tension off the knees. In doing so, I have noticed that my heels are hurting the next day and it is really hard to walk in the morning the next day.
I have a brand new pair of shoes that I only wear at the gym, so the padding is relatively new. So I don't think that is it. But who knows. Does anyone else have this problem.

Are you also doing cardio? Lots of running can cause overuse ..
Believe it or not, new shoes does have an impact on your body. Shoes are all different shapes and sizes, most importantly, shapes. One might have a higher more rounded crest for the sole of the shoe, one might be more flat. If your foot is both adjusted to your other shoes, and is slightly abnormal that will cause some discomfort until you get used to the new shoe.
This seems to me more like an overuse injury. I would talk to that new physiotherapist guy. A heavy weight wouldn't most likely affect your heels in my opinion, so I dont think its the new weight. The new heavy weight would make your muscles sore. But you could have injured something around your heel bone if you've completely changed the performance of the movement.
Were you lifting your toes up while doing any movements? If so, that might be the case too.

I quit running
at least not as much as I was. I tend to get the shin splints if I run a lot. Instead I jump on the elliptical machine.
I keep my feet flat on the floor or machine, but I just try to emphasize the pushing with the heel instead of the toes.
