When my daddy died I was going through a lot of his papers. He had the quote below written down on one side of a piece of scratch paper.
"When everything is said and done, be sure more is done than said."
On the other side it read:
"Don't let anyone steal your dreams!"
"Always forgive your enemies, nothing annoys them as much!"
That was 17 years ago.
I laminated it and carry those words in my wallet, but hold them in my heart.
I try to live by them, not because I have to, but because it feels right.
Wise words from a wise man....something carelessly written down that stuck with me forever.
The things he never told me, but didn't go unsaid.
Thanks, for helping me remember that!, Steve.It made me tear up, but Daddy always said, "Tears cleanse the heart and strengthen the soul."
It's good to remember.....so we never forget the most important things, are not THINGS at all!

Hmmm
My girlfriend asked me a question a few weeks ago, and she said,
"Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"
I replied, "Happy. :)"
I dont quite think that was what she was expecting to hear, perhaps a more career-related response. Regardless, my answer was as stands. They say its not the destination, but rather the journey that is half the fun anyhow. To me, I think the journey is equally as important as the destination.
In Homer's Odessey,
the whole point , was one should enjoy the WALK, RUN, CLIMB, STRUGGLE that gets you where you are going.
It is not the life, but the JOURNEY through life that is most important.

WOW... these words really hit home. Made me tear up as well.. thank you SO much for sharing. "Never let anyone steal your dreams" That will be my new chant as I train hard in the gym while preparing for nationals. LOVE YOU GIRL!!!

So many times we forget to remember that like Daddy said, when everything is said and done, more should be done than said. I am glad this touched you too. . Everyone should slow down....stop....reflect....then, hit the door running, sitting on ready and locked on GO! Big hugs 4 u!!!!
