... cardio befoore or after lifting.? ....

... some buddie told me that it is best to lift weights BEFORE doing my cardio routine ... is this true.? ... i have a tendecy to forget things with a brain injury ... i was just walking to lose weight and lost 27 pounds but now i'm working on toning up so i began lifting weights again ... and now i'm gaining some of that weight back - YIKES .! ... so i'm guessing that i'm just building muscle which i do know weighs more than the fat ... but the question is to cardio before or after doing the lifting deal ... which will yeild the best results for some buddie like me that doesnt desire a fitness model look , just well toned and healthy look ... as always i appreciate your feed back ....

Hey Q:

No doubt before the end of the day you will hear all the merits off cardio after lifting. And it is true that there is data to back up that the body can work better when doing it after.

HOWEVER and the big HOWEVER- I fully believe that you gotta do what makes you stay consistent and enjoy your workouts.

I dropped 40lbs years ago and got into amazing shape by cardio first and lifting after. The trick is that as the kind of lifting I was doing changed and my goals as well, I shifted to doing it after. Reality is sometimes you just want get that heart going and in your case there is nothing wrong with doing it first.

I agree with you on that one. As long as, you keep training, and keep shocking the body with your training programs, it shouldn't matter. Just keep enjoying it.
