Catchin' the COOTIES
Posted September 25th, 2008 by Mona Liza Reyes
Uggghhh... Everyone around me was catching a bug or virus of some sort. I don't know what made me feel I was invincible to the cooties. Late last night it hit me: the aches, fatique, feverish and yacking. To say the least, I had to postpone my flight to meet Jamo & Ves and will be flying in to Vegas LATE tonight.
Here's the plenty of Vitamin C, h20, DayQuil and rest. Any other suggestions?
And any video blog topics you'd like me to cover this weekend, hit me up and let me know. I will do my best to make sure we answer some of your questions :)
Be blessed,
MO

Hope you're better
Zinc has also been known to be good for a cold and good for the immune system in general. I caught a cold earlier this month (which was mostly from burnout - working 11 hour days did that to me). Any product with a concentrated amount of Zinc and/or Vitamin C can help reduce your sick time. With that type of combination, water, sleep, and not curbing back on my workouts too much, I was better within a week.
Hey Mo
It sucks to be sick... I just got over my cold a week ago. Rest, about 2L of OJ a day, vits/mins, fruits, & try to maintain your eating habits though it may be a bit of a challenge. And don't work too hard ;)
Hey Steve, maybe you need to start putting your diet up on the forum page. I know it got me psyched to hit the weights just knowing I was about to start again... even when I was trying to get over my cold. It may work for you. That way you have something to aim for once you start.
I dunno Mo,
If all else fails, I always have a backup pair of ruby red slippers that you can use.
They're probably not your size, but I'm sure you can still tap your toes together in them.
It might work for you if you chanted the phrase:
'There's no place like Mo, there's no place like Mo.'
/shrug.
Its worth a shot.

On a more serious note though,
how do you stay motivated? What drives you?
I know you're very dedicated, but I dont think I've ever heard about what drives you to continue what you do, everyday? Because you're already healthy, and in shape, so i wouldnt imagine its the goal to just be 'fit and healthy' because you've already accomplished that :).
I've been out of the gym for so long now because of my wrist :(, so i need help getting motivated to get back when the doc says I can.
It seems the only way to keep me from getting depressed about not being able to go to the gym, was to 'kill my interest' temporarily in it. And now im just focused on eating healthy, because its really all I can do. Well, that and exercise. But i dont want to do any other body parts becuase I dont want to get out of proportion. Any suggestions?
Oh, thats leads to a question, how do you respond to injuries? If you cant use a certain part of your body, how do you handle that? Just work around it? Or put all your body parts on 'freeze' and just do cardio?
