Ouch!

So I was working out legs yesterday with my new lifting partner, who is much stronger than I am, and we got to a sled-like leg press machine...after 3 other exercises. On the last rep of the last set, he was pushing me and I was pumping out that last painful rep like you are supposed to...Long story short, I guess my breathing may not have been right or something, because the last rep I got super dizzy, and as soon as i locked the weight in, I felt like my head was going to explode or I was gonna pass out...then had a migraine for the next couple hours, and woke up with a headache this morning.

He said I may have "popped a nerve" or something along those lines...

anyone ever heard of this?

Thanks guys!

Please take this very seriously. If you headache persists, you have any vision problems or any nausea go to the ER. Whenever you lift, this causes your blood pressure to rise during the concentric motion and I have had cases of burst blood vessels in all sorts of places including the brain. Also, its good to push yourself but please know your limits.

Thanks doc, my headache has been around after 2 days, just a small one, but noticeable, as i rarely get headaches. I havent gotten dizzy or anything, no vision problems, so I am going to give it a few days and if no improvement, definitely hit up the doc.

Thanks so much for your advice....this i am sure can be avoided by proper breathing?
