Legs and soreness and cardio?
Hey everybody...Havin' an awesome week, hope everyone else is as well...
I Blasted my legs on monday, tried you guys' advice and started out with the leg extensions/curls and such. I have been training my legs about once a week, as I have done much more functional training for legs to help my quickness, agility, and jumping for basketball...long story short, I really shocked my legs, and as I sit here on friday, after a week of no cardio and taking glutamine, creatine, and a TON of protein and complex carbs, I am still i bit sore, and wed I could barely walk. I haven't had this feeling since the first day I ever did squats in the 9th grade!
I am trying to cut bodyfat, but its just not gonna happen if I can do my 3 mile jog or at least the elliptical for a week after doing legs...
What is the best and fastest way to get my body used to doing the heavy training days, as well as hitting the cardio?
Thanks a ton guys!

After you do a leg workout
After you do a leg workout you should get on the bike and go at a really low level about 20% to for about 5-10 mins to help flush the lactic acid from your quads. This is called active recovery and helps with the byproducts which are produced during anaerobic glycolysis (lactate). This should help with soreness.
funny
I do the exactly the samething as all of you but I actually do my cardio the next day and then follow it up with sprints. I find the recovery quicker for my legs but thats me cause I play soccer.
Well
here's my advice hope this helps.
On Mondays I do Legs so no cardio. On Tues I do chest so no cardio because my legs are still on fire!!!!!!!!!!!
Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat....are my cardio days Sun I'm off resting getting ready for that painful leg workout on Mon.
I do up to 40 mins.. of interval training for cardio which works best for me to reduce BF...
I switch up the intervals each day. I went through the same issue just like you, this routine helped me. I feel great after my workouts not drained from a crazy leg day followed by some crazy cardio.
ok
this has alwasy been a quandrty with me.
1. Trust me once you get moving in your cardio the leg pain will go away.
2. Use the next day for a light pace but for longer
3. If this persists do your legs at the end of the week
4. However what has worked best for me is spreading legs out over the week, this also jacks up my workouts and increases fat burning.
