protein overload!

Hey guys,
Some fitness dude the other day told me that if you continue to use protein powders for a long time, your body would get used to it and and so when you stop taking protein powders, your body will stuff up? is this true?
also, he recommended that you cycle protein? like using it for 4 weeks and taking like a week off or something? is this true aswell?

Well, I have not heard of cycling protein was necessary, but I know many cycle carbs. High days, low days, etc. Protein is one of the building blocks of muscle, so why cycle them? Just don't consume more then needed. Stick to 1-1.5 grams/lb of bodyweight. Just my opinion.
