A friend is using a muscle enhancement product...

hammama's picture

a friend of mine is using a product that's making him big in no time. He's been working out for one year (like me) but he's way bigger than I am and he even stopped the past 2 months due to a back muscle injury and he did not lose ANY muscle mass or definition (all he did in those two months was play soccer for 1.5 hours a day.) He takes 6-7 pills before and after his workout session and he says he feels like a beast when he takes them which lead to his back injury, he thought he could do so much weight when in reality he couldn't. I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of supplement this is and if it has any side effects.

PS: they are not steroids because he buys them from supplements stores without any prescription or anything.

Edit: he called it "Animal Freakout" but I looked it up on the net and it's not anywhere.

Hey

It could be that he's taking an Animal product... Do they come in a bottle, or in individual packets?

Small bags...

bags of 6-7 pills. but I think he buys a whole bunch of them that last for 2-4 weeks.

I wouldn't be supprised

This is just a guess, but I wouldn't be supprised if this was Animal Nitro G. Although you didn't tell me their colour, i'm guessing that some are red caps & some are white caps. At least for your friends' sake, i'm hoping it is. That the case, it may very well be what i'm thinking... amino acids! If they are multi-colored & look earthy, it's probably just the Animal Pak. If he's 22 years old, I hope he's not using the other animal products... but that's just from a personal stand point.

LOOOOOONG story short

Please allow me to ask you...

1) How consistent is your friend with his meals. Does he eat 5-8 meals a day.
2) How much protein does he consume? Carbs? Fats? Calories?
3) Does he get adequate rest at night?
4) What body type is he? Ecto, Endo, Meso
5) Does he keep his body flexible, healthy and active?
6) What are his genetics like....what did he look like when you both started a year ago?
7) How old is he... how old are you?
8) What are his stress levels like? (low, medium, high)
9) Does he drink lots of water and stay hydrated well?
10) Is he a positive person and believe in himself? (like he did when he thought he was stronger...nothing wrong with believing in yourself and TRYING. This injury will teach him something)
11) Does he have faith, or spirituality in his life?
12) Does he have a loving partner in his life that he shares with and cares about. Maybe children?
13) Do you really believe for one second that those 8 pills are the magic formula and we should all buy them?

He eats 3 big meals a day...

He doesn't count calories and stuff like that. He goes to the gym everyday if not to workout then to play soccer. He's been a professional boxer for 5 years and he's 22 and I'm 17. I think he has low stress level. I don't think he's well hydrated, he doesn't care about what he drinks or eats he only cares about exercising. He does have faith in his life. No kids just a girlfriend. If they have side effects then no one should buy them but that's why I'm asking you guys.

Thanks!

Hmmm

It's more than likely Leukic by Muscletech. What kind of pills were they? If they were horse pills and had a golden color then it was Leukic, if not, Im not sure what it could have been. And be careful, you CAN purchase banned substances [from natural bodybuilding leagues] in supplement stores now.

Not enough information to

Jidmonkey's picture

Not enough information to tell what kind of product it is, your best bet is to ask him. Also, you should tell him to checkout the jamcore warmup on MFT to help prevent back injury. Even people that do steroids have to watch there diet and train properly. After you have diet and exercise down, then you could look at things like mutlivitamins, L glutamine, creatine etc. Most of the supplements you buy at the store are a rip off Imo. Go back to the basics, and then after that you can look into supplementation. Alot of the products that do work too good in stores, are taken off the market because they are like prohormones/designer steroids, and come with a lot of side effects. Nitric oxide supplements give you a real good pump, but I never kept most of that pump. Just my 2 cents.
