384g of protein a day !!! at only 180lbs ( jamo*)
hey jamo , just wanted your input into this psychotic diet a bodybuilder i know is following , he is bulking and he eats 4500kcal a day , 436g carbs a day , 105g of fat a day and a staggering 384 g OF PROTEIN a day !! the shocking thing is that he weighs only 180lbs ( he is 6 foot 2 with around 10% body fat and is 18 years old ) !
i have learned from you and also bodybuilding magazines that this is far too much protein for this guys body weight ! you only need about 1.2-1.3g of protein a day MAX for muscle growth ( i think you quoted 1.2 in a vblog ? ) , so this guy would only need around 200-220g of protein a day , right ? but he is having a staggering 164g of protein MORE than he "needs" . Another shocking thing is that when i confronted him ( on his blog on a bodybuilding forum ) he and ALL the other members seemed to agree with HIM and were telling me that this is a good amount of protein to have and one guy ( i promise you i am not joking ! ) actually suggested he increase his protein intake on one of his meals , so now its pushing 400g a day !!?? how can this guy be doing this and how are all the other seasoned bodybuilders on the forum agreeing with him ? apparently i should be having this amount of protein a day according to them and this has made me confused because these guys on the forum are some of Scotlands best bodybuilders , AND Britains best !! please help jamo , i am so confused , i dont know who to listen to ???

If you don't know who to listen to, listen to ME. hahaha...your body can digest about 25 grams per hour of protein MAX.
Dont even come close to that much protein, I can promise you that they are wasting their money on protein...this is too much.
Second, your buddy that weighs 180 Lbs does not even need that many calories, unless he is working out four hours a day or something...a nutritionist would most likely recommend somewhere in the neighborhood of 3300 calories.
Dont believe everything you see...try it out and if it works, stick to it. but this one may be a waste of a lot of money to try.

if you have a lot of muscle
if you have a lot of muscle mass, obvoiusly you can eat more protein and carbs and not store it as fat, but it still will be passed and will not do you any good if you eat that much protein.
