hay jamo , hows things ? hope your enjoying life and trying to relax more !!

Deadlifts !! my question is = IS IT POSSIBLE TO BUILD AN AMAZING BODYBUILDERS PHYSIQUE AND GET SERIOUS SIZE BY NOT DOING DEADLIFTS ?? are they soo crucial for adding size or are they over-rated ????

I say this because everywere i turn people talk about deadlifts being CRUCIAL for getting big and then another minute i hear the complete opposite ( people saying they are over-rated and cause to many injurys )??

I trained back and traps 2day and decided to deadlift for the first time in pure donkeys ( scottish slang for " a long time " ) and i went really heavy , i done 2 warm up sets , then went into 4 working sets of 8 reps first set, 6 reps second set and 3 reps for 3rd and 4rth set. When i was doing them , i felt very scared and nerveous about getting an injury because of how heavy i was going , i could feel things ( muscles and bodyparts ) straining and felt as if something was going to just POP , thankfully i kept perfect form and nothing did pop but i still felt scared incase something did !!!

my glutes in particular ,i think it was because when i was locking out i was squeezing my bum bum very tight ( LOOOOOL ) ????

i ask if i would be missing out if i stopped them because i just feel nerveous about lifting SOO much weight and dont want to get an injury !!! so i dont think i will continue with them , will i be missing out ???

cheers jamo ;) ps could you please have a look at my transformation picture please :D:D:D i have nearly added 6 STONE in 2 years !!!! and did it all drug free and natural baby :D:D i cant believe how skinny i use to be !!!

THANKS bro ;)

I do deadlifts in my routine, twice a week, tho i did stiff leg smith's deadlift...
i always work deadlift into my routine, i think its a great exercise...

the reason why many say deadlift is not necessary and they give u alot of enjuries, is basically cause the trainers themselves dont know how to keep a form and they dont wanna cause you to have injuries...

Many take those online cert. to become a trainer, that dont teach them how to keep form in the gym, and if they dont do the exercise correctly themselves, they cant teach you how to do them...

if you got your form right, and you're cautious until you're perfectly sure that you're keepin your form right, add more weight, but if you dont know how to keep form, dont mess with it, cause yes then you're likely to get injuries...

I love it when a trainer is recommending not to do certain exercises, just shows how little they know (in most cases) there is ofcourse exercises that is better to do other ways, but i HATE when trainers say deadlift is bad for you, LEARN TO DO THEM, LEARN TO TEACH THEM :) then they are great...

jussst my 5 cents...haha

if your form is perfect and you have yourself a good belt and some knee wraps....should be pretty good.

I like deadlifts about every other back workout, but there are a LOT of good back exercises...i dont think it is "impossible" to get without dead lifts.
