SOME Myths About Obesity
Posted June 12th, 2007 by christo
*Obesity is one of the few remaining socially accepted prejudice.
1. The obese eat more than the non-obese ---> A few studies show that they tend to only eat the same or less.
2. They are more emotionally "disturbed" ---> Studies show they have to deal with HUGE social pressure but seem to be well adjusted.
3. Moderate obesity increases sickness and death ---> The highest mortality rate for woman was for under weight. The lowest rate was for woman 10% and 20% overage average weight.
4. Fat people are always happy ---> No, some more or less than others.

Don't call the front cover till youv'e read the story
Its good that you posted that blog bro. The reason the majority of people are obese is due to lack of exercise, although like it says there is alot of prejudice about obese people and that they suffer alot of emotional upset from others, this in my eyes means that only the obese people that are emotionally strong will go to a public place full of fit people - the gym. So the ones that arent so strong, name calling and making them feel put out i imagine will only make them feel worse.
I had a teacher who was morbidly obese and it was a medical condition but i could imagine the torment of kids calling her for it like it was her fault.
cool!
Great information dude, thanks for the blog!
