Lol I've been hastling you about this but can you pleaseeeeeeeeeee check my nutrition log? I started this whole "test program" thinking you would be here to answers questions/concerns and help me with the nutrition.. Im feeling pretty helpless right now as far as knowing if I'm on the right track. Jamo hasnt commented much at all either.

I messaged you on your profile guestbook, but here's the message

"Could you check out my nutrition log and check out a few days of the log and let me know what you think? A) Particularly what do you feel I should be eating pre-bed? B) upon awakening in the morning? C) And how about post-workout? Like minimum amounts of sugar after a workout. I'm 200lbs and I want to make sure I get enough sugar, but at the same time I dont want to get way more than I need, beause i'm trying to keep my fat gains minimal.
I am unsure if what I am doing is good or not. Thanks in advance!"

Ok...

Ok bro! Im lactose intollerant to a degree where i dont consume any dairy at all. I have soy milk in my coffee, oats and a few other small things. I think casin protein is the one that has a slow obsorbtions and thats the one found in milk... correct me if i am wrong :) I have heard that this protein is great to have before you go to bed so the muscles are able to recover throughout the night. SO my topic is "what diet tips do u recomend for lactose intollerant athletes"

peace!

Peanut Butter

Ashley's picture

Would be a good topic to talk about, such as all the good, bad and what peanut butters are good for you etc? How much fat, protein, carbs etc should be in them?

Thanks :)

could you discuss fat burning?

will_i_am's picture

and explain the primary concepts behind it. Basically like this:

if i wanted to get up eat a meal. wait an hour or two, then hit the gym and do cardio... how do i know what type of fuel source my body is going to use. when am i going to start burning fat as fuel. does it depend entirely on intensity.
for example, say i wanted to run all day long breaking in between as necessarily. isnt it techincally hypothetically possible that if i did everything perfect for the first hour of cardio, burned as much fat as possible. took a break, drank a protein shake if thats what i needed to do, then a little later did more cardio. took a break, ate something little that i needed to. did cardio again....
couldn't i hypothetically continue to burn fat since eventually my glycogen in the liver and muscles would be depleted at some point, then the body (if i didnt eat, or only drank a protein shake) would have to use fat, since it doesnt go for muscle first if im at a specific intensity, and then if it did, the protein shake i drank would leave some aminos in my blood in case the cardio decided to dip into some proteins as fuel for whatever reason, be it the intensity level or just because my body felt it needed that type of macronutrient at the time as a source of energy.

wow. this is relaly hard to explain. but basically, hypothetically speaking, couldn't you manipulate your diet and incorporate exercise (for energy expidenture), to specifically target the usage of adipose tissue as fuel... and wouldnt it be a lot easier if you had already depleted most of your glycogen.

as you may know by now brian, i have a passion for understanding the in depth details. most of which im sure we do not even know yet. this is why some day in the soon future, i will be studying this in a lab working on it myself. lol...
