Impacting Lives

Joining MyFitTribe has been such a fantastic way to meet people with a healthy common interest. I know I have enjoyed being a part of this community so much. I have met a lot of great fitness professionals, competitors, models and just plain health nuts. I have also noticed there are a lot of people here just getting into a healthy lifestyle. People who are overweight, out of shape and some who just admire the fit because they aren't convinced fitness can work for them like it works for us. We cannot get so wrapped up in our own vanity and knowledge that we forget there are people who need just simple encouragement and basic tips - just a simple as "you can do this".

I believe people often forget how many others don't know even the most elementary facts. I always say you don't need a college professor to teach 1st grade math and I believe it's the case with fitness. You don't need a certified personal trainer or exercise physiologist to encourage you to work out more and decrease your calories. People just need someone to care and share what they know or what they've learned - no matter how basic or advanced their training is. We all can help so many more people if we all work together to educate and encourage those around us.

Some people may think I write too simply. Some experts may feel I leave out important details or that I don't talk about more advanced training techniques. Although I have not had the first negative comment or complaint, I know I keep things simple and I do it for a specific reason. Most people just need the most basic information. People need hope. Most people need direction, motivation and to know we all struggle with temptation. Even a person's testimony can impact a life forever.

If you look at statistics, most of us "fitness freaks" are not the norm - we are actually the minority. I write and live for the majority. Sure, fitness is fun and exciting. Tweaking and sculpting the body is really empowering. The problem is, according to World Health Organization, globally there are 1 billion people who are over weight with 300 million people who are obese. We can't forget about these people.

It's so easy to get wrapped up in ourself and forget there are people who would give their right arm for some of the most basic information in order to get some results. I often forget this myself. We just have to stay focused and if we truly believe in fitness we will not be able to keep it to ourselves. Fitness is a great thing. There is nothing like living healthy and feeling great, so think of all the people YOU can impact.

Whether you are just making new discoveries yourself, you have recently lost some weight, or you are just have learned a few useful tips - share your experience and impact a life today. You will be greatly blessed!

I would love to meet you cause you are my type of person! There is no too "simple" when it comes to writing......I like to think that it has to be complex enough to be scholarly, yet simple enough for a kid to get it.
Keep doing what you're doing! You are on top of your game.
Big hugs 2 U!

and check this out....

great post Bonnie! when i taped the video blog "food choices" I thought the information I was saying was "too elementary" and that I EVERYONE knew the basics. Boy.. was I wrong. The passion we have for health and fitness, draws the average person just starting out to want to learn more. MFT is a wonderful community where we have seasoned veterans that can interact with fitness newbies. Looking forward to meeting you one day :)
