Periodization - Strength & Hypertrophy
I've been pretty bad at keeping track/updating my workout and nutrition log for the past 2 weeks. I just moved back to Utah from San Francisco, so on top of work, I've been doing plenty of skiing!
I'm half way through single block of Str & Hyp of the periodization training. The last block of hypertrophy went well. I feel like I made some decent gains and I was very strict with nutrition. There are only 4 exercises in the current block (legs, chest/tri, shoulders, back/bi). I did my leg workout after 3 days in a row of skiing, so I was pretty obliterated! The chest workout was awesome! I haven't been this sore in some time.
I've been sticking to a natural tempo (1.5 to 2 sec concentric - 1 sec pause - 2 second eccentric). The heavy weights with limited rest is fun. Today is shoulder day (and abs), so I'm pretty excited to get into the gym and hit it hard.
Side note: I have a feeling my legs are going to be pretty jacked by the end of periodization training because I'll also be skiing 3 to 4 days a week. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with my team!

excellent
keep up the great work .
the hardest part and most important really is diet in my opinion.. combined of course with rest.... b/c no matter what your wrokout is like.. there are 2 things, basics..
1: if you dont have proper nutrition before your workout, your muscles will not be able to perform optimally.
example> if you didn't eat anythign for a while and try to workout, and you've been dieting lately, your muscles might not even have any glycogen period.. and if you're liver has no stores... etc... you're body will be troubled to get energy quickly.
2: if you have a huge workout, but dont eat healthy, there's no way your body will recover.
example> say you workout hard, and then you go eat pure cake or candy.. there's absolutely no protein in that... its kind of hard not to eat after a workout,, but realize im just trying to make this point, and have it stick with you like glue ;) same with the above comment.
Make..
..sure you getting more carbs when u sking bro and thank you for the update .
