Tell me it isn't so...
Posted August 17th, 2009 by willbefitRumor has it that the tribe may be shutting down. There has not been any new content in a while, so I hope it isn't true. Jamo, what is up with the rumor. Tell me it is only a rumor.

Must do exercises.
Posted June 27th, 2009 by willbefitDoes anyone have a must do exercise during your training ?
For me it is:
Chest: Incline dumbbell press
Back: T-bar row
Legs: finishing with walking dumbbell lunges
Shoulders: seated barbell press
Triceps: dumbbell skull crushers
Biceps: Incline dumbbell curls
Swiss ball kicked my butt...
Posted June 18th, 2009 by willbefitI had legs a couple of days ago, and I am still feeling the effect of that Swiss ball. I first laughed at the thought of using the ball for legs, but what did I know. Not much I guess. I was to only do two leg exercises, and I was totally drained afterward.
Squat rack with one plate per side.
set one 20 reps rest 45 seconds
set two 21 reps rest 45 seconds,
continue till 30 reps.
Swiss ball one leg curls..
Same drill with starting with 15 reps and going to 25.

Thanks again...
Posted June 1st, 2009 by willbefitJust wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to Jamo and the crew at My Fit Tribe.
For telling it like it is, without all the BS. Far to often many of us get motivated by what we read in the magazines, other websites, etc. etc. only to be disappointed by routines and info that just don't make sense.

Answer needed..
Posted May 24th, 2009 by willbefitI was recently asked a question at the gym, and I did not know how to answer it. The correct answer will make a big difference in my current diet as well. I normally cook up a bunch on the weekend and weigh it all out after cooked.
So the question is, "Is the nutritional values on the label based on being cooked or uncooked."
Thanks for the help.
Morning temperature
Posted May 16th, 2009 by willbefitI have recently been working with someone to help me with my diet. I have, as many know, Hypothyroidism. I have a very tough time losing that extra layer of fat from my abs downward. So anyway, I was told to take my temperature first thing in the morning before I even get out of bed. Does anyone know why this would be needed ?
By the way, the last two days it has been 97.2, and 96.7. That would be using a digital thermometer, and under the tongue.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Hydroxycut recall
Posted May 2nd, 2009 by willbefitJust a heads up for everyone that depends on supplements to wake them up in the morning, or give them a little energy before hitting the gym..
Weighted Cardio..
Posted April 17th, 2009 by willbefitOpinions vary, but I would love to hear what most of you think would be more beneficial. I tend to like the stairmaster for low intensity cardio. I have been thinking about stepping it up a notch or two. What do you think would be better ?
1. A weighted vest.
or
2. Ankle and wrist weights.
I have heard that some people don't like the ankle weights for reasons of not liking the weights around the joints. Just don't know how valid this is.
What are your thoughts ?
Jamo, you can chime in here as well..
Accepting help..
Posted April 14th, 2009 by willbefitYesterday (Monday 13th) was not a good day for myself, and many others where I work. The second I walked into work, I was informed that I needed to watch a short movie before going out on to the dock to work. These short movies are always from the president of the company about how the company as a whole is doing, etc, etc.
Well he went on and on about how they have tried to save money by consolidating here, and there, cutting routes here and there, and even lowering costs to the customers. This was just not enough to keep the company moving in the right direction.
Happy Easter !!

Workout videos
Posted April 3rd, 2009 by willbefitI was checking out the video under the Jamcore workouts for men. I noticed it has a GREAT workout for shoulders and abs, and chest and arms. It would be great for a workout routine for legs, and back. I am tired of the same things and looking for something new. I will keep looking through the videos and try to throw something together.

How much cardio is to much ?
Posted April 1st, 2009 by willbefitI like many, have a slight dilemma. I can't seem to shake that extra little fat from my abs. My diet is spot on, so that is not an issue. I have been doing cardio 5 days a week. 3 days of HIIT (usually a spin class) after weights, and 2 days low intensity on a stairmaster. If I was to add a couple of low intensity sessions in the evening do you think it would help? Or am I just going to be overdoing it, and possibly increase my caloric needs?
Headaches and nose bleeds
Posted March 28th, 2009 by willbefitJust recently I have noticed that I have been getting a headache when I get up from leg press, or from squatting. It used to be just a little light headedness after standing up, but now a headache. A minute of deep breathing and it goes away.
Yesterday (friday) I was doing lying leg curls. As I finished my last rep I noticed a drop of blood on my hand. I then noticed it came from me.
Has this ever happened to anyone else after exerting alot of energy during a lift ?
Hypo update.
Posted March 16th, 2009 by willbefitI just had my blood tested for the second time after being on the medicine for Hypothyroidism. The results were not to my liking, but there is not much I can do about it. My TSH levels are still very high, so the doctor has increased the strength of the medicine, and I get to go back and have it tested again in eight weeks. I am not going to let it get me down. I am just going to keep on training, and giving it my all.
Take care everyone.
