Affect of Life: True Emotions & Senses of an Addict
Posted April 11th, 2009 by will_i_amHey all!! I know its been so long since I have been blogging on myfittribe.
Its pretty apparent something is wrong.
A quick recap of recent history. Precluding the beginning of my latest semester of college I was arguably the leanest and heaviest i've ever been. Definitely the leanest at the heaviest, and maybe even the leanest period.
A few weeks into school and I bottomed out.
Lets try looking at why?
I'm a little to obsessed with this shit, honestly. There's something I'm really missing I guess.
Listening to Nature - Keeping it Whole
Posted January 12th, 2009 by will_i_amSo... You all know how much I love to promote mother nature herself... whole foods, wholeness in its entirety!
Much like training with weights, why pick apart an amazing exercise as its compound functionality to try to gain the same benefits by doing less (such as an isolated exercise of individual parts).
Nutritional Discrepancies
Posted January 8th, 2009 by will_i_amHey all! This is quite an interesting find. I have often debated this, and many a times forgotten to blog about this discrepancy that I think is really important.
It comes in the form of nutritional energy.
We break apart food for energy, with this energy we move =)
I would like to bring to all of your attention, with the best of intent, some discrepancies I have noted along my journey of fitness & health.
Muesli - A Powerful Way to Start the Day
Posted January 8th, 2009 by will_i_amWhen I think of health, I think of nature.
Whole foods, freshly picked, ripe with flavor & nutrition.
Bountifully flowing with energy & life.
Take one look at this amazing dish and I think you'll agree... hand picked by Mother Nature herself...

ngredients:
3 ½ cups rolled old fashioned whole-grain oats
½ cup raisins
1 cup sulfur-free dried fruit bits (fig, apricot, prune, apple, pear, cranberry, peach, dates)
¾ cup ground flaxseeds
½ cup raw walnuts (whole or chopped)
Holiday Snacking ~ Get Fruity
Posted December 19th, 2008 by will_i_amHello to all my friends!!! Thank you so much for all your emails, messages, instant messages, comments and everything you've done to help ME out espeically over the holidays & we're almost to the new years!!
So my tip is for helping to cure that sweet tooth !!
Try drinking some water first to make sure you're not really thirsty :).
Our bodies are machines and when it needs something, it'll let you know. Oddly enough, many of us don't know how to interpret our bodies well, so down a glass of H2o first and then precede.
Try snacking on dried fruit!

Black Friday: Walmart employee killed, hospitalized during stampede
Posted November 28th, 2008 by will_i_am
*Face Palm*
Was it the alcohol? Was it the special food? Maybe it was peoples low self-esteem which led them to not care about anyone else?
Whatever it was, this Black Friday was horrendous.

Stretching to Stay Flexible: A Harvard Health Study
Posted November 26th, 2008 by will_i_am
Stretching to Stay Flexible
Whether you exercise daily or only once in a while, make stretching part of your regular routine. Stretching increases the range of motion of your muscles and joints, including the joints in the neck and back. Increased range of motion translates to better flexibility.
Do I have to stretch?

Battle of the Whole Grains .:. Healthy Cereals 101
Posted October 23rd, 2008 by will_i_amSome are starting to see the light shed on cereal and that, in its "wholest" meaning, it is not the healthiest choice. This doesn't just mean for breakfast either.
Being lifestyle enthusiasts, we find ways to make what we love healthy and adapt it to our lifestyle.
There is no reason that whole grains cannot be thrown into a bowl and comprise our "cereals". We can turn it around and it starts now.
Rate my Plate : Guacamole Chicken Sandwich
Posted October 7th, 2008 by will_i_amTo the average Joe, lunch time might usually means a rush to the nearest fast-food joint to grab a burger and fries. Or for those watching what they eat, a chicken caesar salad loaded with dressing? Somehow, we've gone a little wrong in the past few years with our choices in what we eat, and there's no doubt about it. Of course we're all busy and we don't have any time to make our lunch, let alone our breakfast!
So I've made a quick little recipe here, and I hope to continue this trend as a new incorporation of MyFitTribe.
I call it.... "Rate My Plate"
Truly Caffeine-ation: The Do's and Do'nuts
Posted September 26th, 2008 by will_i_amSo recently I realized, I’m in a constant state of defending the coffee drinkers. It’s everyday that you hear someone telling you what you should do, and if you drink coffee, you hear may this a lot: "Why do you drink coffee? You know its really bad for you right?"
To which you reply "Yeah, I do. Hey did you know that donut in your hand has been shown to increase energy and boost metabolism?"
Something like that, ironic isn't it?
Health & Inspiration
Posted September 6th, 2008 by will_i_am
Hey! We all remember Rick Schaff and his crazy new recipes that show us just a little more detail and complexity to just how important it is to make sure our foods stay nutrient/vitamin dense and how to get the most out of them. He also showed us how to keep our digestive systems working super efficiently for true health, on the INSIDE and in return, our outsides look amazing.
Metabolically Positive: Females & Males
Posted August 24th, 2008 by will_i_amSo! It's been a while since I ASKED a question here at MFT.com so I wanted to add my insight and hear what you all had to suggest and what knowledge you could bring to "the table" so to speak.
Lets quickly go over a basic fundamental idea here that I utilize when trying to explain to people the importance of "eating enough" when they start their fit n' healthy endevours.
