Friend Needs Help

Hi guys, I have a friend of mine thats looking into shape for her birthday which is in November. She' s 5''7 and weighs about 195 at her heaviest she gets to about 201. Anyway were starting to train together next week, but she wants help and tips with meal plans and other things. So any suggestions with meal plans would be great. She has a huge sweet tooth when it comes to cake, and she eats a lot of carbs. Like I said were training together so I just want to give her some sound advice, to keep her motivated and on the right path.

Exercise Pill?

I think America has reached a new height in terms of laziness. I was watching the morning show with Mike and Juliet, one of the topics was an exercise pill. Its still in the developmental stages, but researchers say that in mice that were treated with the pill ran 44 % longer on the treadmill and had 23% more endurance than untreated mice. They're hoping that it can be used for obesity, and people with certain disabilities. But in my opinion theres nothing better than good exercise and eating right, I doubt that this pill will work in humans, but that remains to be seen.

No More Excuses

It's been awhile since I've blogged here, mainly because I was busy job& house hunting, now those things are out of the way I can focus a little bit better on getting healthier. The best part of this is I finally got a gym and I dont have to pay anything, because I work on a college campus and have 24 hour access to the gym. Now Im ready to go, it's gonna be hard because summer time I like to hit up those BBQ's LOL!!!!!!, But I think I can do it.

Getting Back In Action

I have to admit during the winter months I've been absolutely lazy, living in Philly and hating the cold makes me not to do anything. But now that the weather is starting to break I'm getting more motivated and have been getting into a routine at home. I've been looking around for gyms to join that I dont have to sign an annual contract. To make a long blog short I was wondering does anyone have any advice for back exercises that I can do at home?

Getting started

teck23's picture

Ok, so I've purchased all the neccessarry products, whey protein, creatine, and all that. But my problem is living here in philly its hard to get motivated and go out and run or go to the gym, especially if one you're between jobs, and not close to any of the gyms. Not to mention I'm not a cold weather person, so for me its very hard to get motivated, so right now I'm just trying to eat healthy, and drink water and all that stuff, so when the weather breaks I can get started. Til them I'm saving up for a good home gym, because I'm not really a fan of monthly payment membership gyms.

Beginner

I'm a 26 year old female that plans on starting to get in shape and possibly go into body building. I just bought the recent issue of M&F mag , and I was reading the 12 week beginers weight training and nutrition guide. I was reading one of the meal plans which consisted of cottage cheese, I hate that stuff, so I was wondering does anyone out here know what I can substitute for that. Any and all advice will be appreciated.
