I'll have my revenge with some frozen fat-free cool whip please <3

Stevers's picture

Warning: Long blog, if you want the summary its the one/two pararaphs at the bottom of this blog

So I sent this message to a friend of mine and was convinced it might be inspirational to others; or at least a bit entertaining if you're bored.

So maybe what I'm about to tell you is not exactly "revenge," but it still felt great nonetheless.

Help with Quitting the habit smoking.

Stevers's picture

My mother smokes, a lot. And she doesnt realize we are aware of it [my brother, my sister and myself].
Each year we ask for her to stop smoking, usually as a Christmas gift to us, or for a New Years resolution.

She has tried a bit to stop smoking, but if she's making a big effort, she's not letting us know....

She's killing herself... slowly. And I think my siblings and I have tried a lot of things to stop her.

Does anyone have any tips for helping her to quit????

The hidden Dangers of *some* fruits!

Stevers's picture

Howdy All! Just something you might want to know, for those of you that eat whole fruits without skipping th cores :-p.

An excerpt from AskMen.com states this:
Fruit seeds (Cyanide)
What are they found in?
Apple seeds, cherry stones, and the kernels inside the pits of apricots, nectarines, peaches, and plums.

Why are they poisonous? The American Medical Association (AMA)'s Handbook of Poisonous and Injurious Plants states that eating a large quantity of apple seeds (and other seeds) can be fatal due to the presence of the toxin cyanogenic glycoside, or cyanide. The exact lethal dose is unknown, although swallowing the seeds of a single apple is generally harmless for an adult. Children are more vulnerable: 15 apricot kernels are sufficient to kill them.

Behind every great man....

Stevers's picture

Okay, so most of you saw this coming, or at least can predict the finisher for this quote.
I feel it is true! And I think this can be taken to mean a few things.

Behind every great man is a great woman.
Behind every great man is < a great spouse>.
Even so much as, behind every great man, is< a great mother (more loosely: Great parent(s)>

Regardless, this can be taken many ways, and I feel the idea is true that behind anyone that has done great things, and touched many people, are family and friends that have helped and supported them along the way.

No Sympathy

Everyone yell at Will, he fractured his heel-bone and is in a cast; so he's out fit a bit. BUT!!!!!! I just caught him eating two whole bags of trail mix in the past two days. Thats easily over 8k calories. Gawd almighty, everyone yell at him. I'm calling him out.

He worked so hard doing cardio I dont want to see him waste all that effort because he feels bad for himself.

WHERES THE WILL POWER DARNIT!

Dont feel bad! Get Mad! I am... ><

There's no excuse. He can do better than this... he knows it.

3 months to prepare! Not me, but someone i'd love to be able to help! Thoughts and tips needed!

Stevers's picture

Okay, here's the quick info:

The man i want to help has 3 months to get as lean as he can, and in shape as fast as he can.
His goals: Currently 195lbs, 5'10"
Wants to get down to about 165'ish if possible and put on maybe 10-15lbs of muscle.

He's training for a boxing match coming up in 3 months so heres my idea:

Why?

Stevers's picture

Why do I bodybuild? Why do I put myself through this everday, and why is it seemingly one of my highest priorities?

Well after a lot of deep thinking that I wont get into here, my final answer was ironically very simple.

Because it is hands down, of all the very difficult things in my life i've ever attempted, it is the most rewarding!

An intense workout is very difficult mentally and physically, and thats just one workout. Creating a consistent routine only furthers the challenge it puts against you.

Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflamatories

I have developed what I think might be carpal tunnel syndrome. My left wrist is severely inflamed and my range of motion is very restricted. Particularly when I attempt to stretch my extensors.

Sugar Substitutes?

Stevers's picture

No, I'm not talking about a bag of powdered sugar teaching your gym class for a day, I'm talking about the supplements that we consume in place of sugar because they are calorically less dense.

So a customer mentioned to me the other day about the fact that sugar substitutes have a very similar impact on blood sugar levels compared to normal sugar, however after the insulin spikes occur due to the sugar substitutes, there are no calories to follow and thus no glucose to be transported around and stored as fat or energy...

Mutual Supplementation. ATTN: Vegetarians/Vegans

Stevers's picture

What is mutual supplementation?
The combining of two or more foods so the proteins from each individual source overlap to create a superior quality protein based on the combination of amino acids present in those individual proteins (thats my definition, i hope it makes sense).

Let me put that into a real life application.

This is pathetic.

I live in America yes, but sadly I cannot say I am proud to be an "American."
Warning: This message is not for the faint of heart.

Did you know 25.1% of Americans are obese?
Obese!!! Yes, thats loosely translated to mean: RIDICULOUSLY OVERWEIGHT!!!
Not just fat... or 'above average'.. thats like... "Look at me I'm so overweight its affecting my health!"

That's All Folks. Progress Analysis.

In accordance with Bobby's decision to first discontinue the program study, and then Ravinous's decision to follow suit, I have decided:
We have all been following our programs pretty strictly in accordance with our goals
It has been 3 months of blogging/logging and I feel 3 months is adequate time enough should anyone wish to follow our logs, they will be able to get a strong grasp of our train of thought, and our training and nutritional endeavors.
I am now officially ceasing this program study in the sense that I will no longer be recording daily blogs.

Story Time Again :-p

Stevers's picture

Okay. Warning, this story is intended for the guys :-p. Its about me and the cocky, alpha-male ego that all of us have a little of inside. But! Im not all alpha-male or all cocky, so keep that in mind please >_<

LOL. Today felt great. During legs I was getting ready for my heavy set on Squat, I'm standing about 15 feet away from the squat rack, pivoting back and forth from one foot to the other; tapping my feet to the music as I try to get pumped. I was doing this for a good 30 seconds mind you, the same spot. Just trying to get hyped!
