recently i decided to do my work standing up to help burn some fat and stay awake at night. anyway, i also figured i might as well do the .....err, hula hoop motion thing (without the hoop), you know, the circular motion with the waist thing.

anyway, i was wondering if you guys can suggest some ways to add some resistance to it. do bare in mind that i have computers, chairs and table all around me, so nothing too fancy i hope.

how young?

i think i read about this somewhere in the site before but i cant remember when. so i'd like to hear from our experts here.

how young can a person begin weight training?
i read (in the profile) that some of the our members actually began lifting very very young.

(i'm gonna ramble now, so u are warned)

is it just me....but i kinda noticed that power-lifters are mostly short. did they stunt their growth by doing the heavy lifting too early in their years or is it all about mechanics?? i mean, being short giving them the extra edge over the taller lifters??

after reading hardcorex2's blog, i just want to put down my observation.

is it just me or do modern day bodybuilder tend to have bigger (thicker) abs that...well makes them look 'fat'. i know there's hardly any fat on them especially the ones in the tourney but the abs kinda er...uh...bulge? (not you Jamo, u look lean)

Ok now you guys know a little bit of Malay Language or Bahasa Melayu. shouldnt take a genius to figure what im talking about right??

its good that the fasting month is over so that i can get back to 'normal life' but the festive food will be something else. you see, our traditional food for Hari Raya are ketupat, lemang and rendang.

ketupat = glutinous rice in palm leaves
lemang = glutinous rice + coconut milk in bamboo
rendang = spicy chicken or beef cooked in coconut milk

as you can see, weight gain seems to be my ancestors' the main idea after the fasting season. sigh.

i was reading kennessy's blog...and i have to confessed that i gained almost 2 kg on Saturday. =( awful awful awful.

u see what happened was that, i went to my parent's house for breakfast, which usually means tonnes of food on the table. and plus it's momma's cooking. sigh. so i reverted to my 'trashcan' mode. all the leftovers were gobbled up by me.
you see, its hard for me to say no, especially with my 90+year old grandma around. she would go like,

"that is 'rezeki', you dont push away 'rezeki'. eat up!"

so back home i was like

readjusting my goal

after five days of fasting but keeping the same workout load, i have finally dipped below 59kg and keeping it there. so so happy.

so im readjusting my weight goal to 56kg (which happens to be my best weight before i became a potato couch, despite not owning any couch or eating much of potatoes)

and i finally did the body fat count too. currently im at 21.1% bodyfat. hopefully i can achieve 10% bodyfat....although i'm not so sure where my weight should be at 10%.

ah time to wake up the girls and take them to kindergarden.

you know im getting addicted to this website. i found myself here everytime i opened my firefox. and then keep on clicking the refresh button like every half hour or so. geez. but i love it here really. and i got some ideas i want to throw at you Jamo, but i'll have to do a bit of research first.

hmmm

i did not lose much over the last month. only 0.3 kg but im feeling good. energy level is up. i dont need a nap while working anymore lol which is definitely a plus. i put up a new pic in my profile. nothing fancy though, as always, it is just for me to see my own progress.

oh yes, ramadan is just around the corner,
so im taking this opportunity to wish happy fasting to any of you guys or gals who will....well.....fast. and i think thats you Jamo, right? hopefully i will lose more pounds in ramadan hehehe

i was wondering if i can just to the walking lunge for my cardio day??

i've tried it, and like it. plus i can just do it in my house ( yes i dont like to go outside unless its a park or beach or a river in the forest )

so, is it good enough for cardio?
