Hey guys,

Just letting you know that I competed just this past weekend in a natural bodybuilding competition & won the light heavy weight class. I've now qualified to compete at Nationals for this oganization, which will be on November 14. Wish me luck!

1st Canadian bodybuilding competition

Hey tribe members... just thought i'd update you guys on my progress. With just 2 more weeks to go, I think I have a handle on where i'm at. For those of you with experience, you know it takes alot of work to maintain everything you're worked for, especially at this particular time. I've fought with myself over everything from how many sets to do to trying out how many hours sleep I need each night for optimal training. It has become ridiculous how teadious this thing is!

Upcoming competition

Boxing gym

I'm looking for a REAL boxing gym in the Miami area. Even a gym that offers MMA fighting. Can anyone help me out with a few suggestions?

12 more weeks

12 more weeks to go until my first Canadian Bodybuilding competition.

210 lbs & the cutting begins.

I've been training for the past 5 or so months for a competition I decided to try for this year. Right now i'm about 210lbs & i'm happy with my progress up to this point. I train every other day & eat anywhere from 6-9 meals a day based on the sizes of my meals & the demands my body makes on specific days.

Ravinous is even more ravinous than before

I know it's been a while since i've posted anything, but i'm still here. I've been busy, but i'm still here. 2009 has been a very challenging year for my family, but we're pulling through it alright now. As a matter of fact, even after much confusion about whether I should compete anymore or even in what sport should I compete in were issues for me since last year. There was of course more drama than just that, but needless to say, i've come to the conclusion that i'm addicted to competition!

I'm still here!

One month back from ground zero

I've been caught up with some things for the past few months that distracted me from this site. But i'm still here!

Recent changes to body composition - Update

Ravinous's picture

Hey tribe members!! Just touching base to let you know what i've been up to recently. As you all know, i've been training very hard in efforts to break my own National discus record. Well, again, plans have changed since i've recently been upgraded proffesionally. Anyway, it's back to the drawing board once again!

Appeal to MFT members

I've been making awesome progress recently with my training but have hit a stumbling block once again. I've gotten to a point where my joints are bothering me again, namely my left shoulder. Because of this, i'm asking for your opinions on a 'brand' of glucosomine with chon. & msm so I can make a switch & continue my push forward. What brand would you recommend?

Food & eating

Ravinous's picture

Back in the day when I was able to throw down a few tripple classic burgers & biggie fries, plus 4 other meals, plus 2 protein shakes in a day I never realized just how much I ate. Besides that, I didn't realize how much junk there was in each of my meals. The guys I train with now range in ages from 17-25. And almost everytime we're done throwing they all gather together & go out to eat. What do they eat? Even worse food than I did... so they can do that, right?

How far would you go?

I'm sure you guys remember how painful it was for me last year getting to & from training... walking in minus degree weather, a 1/2 hr each way. Well today was basically the first day of many to come for this season. Apart from just going to the gym to lift, I have to stand outside for 2hrs. The thing is that my throwing coach has decided that we'll continue throwing outside until snow is on the ground. Yea right!!

Rest is just as important...

Good call taking last week off from training!

One week off...

Ravinous's picture

It's Friday & i've been off training for this whole week. I know it's good to take a break now & then not only when you're reached a plateau, but also if you seem to be peaking too quickly. For me, this time, it's the latter. You know that saying, "the older you get, the wiser..." well I have a new one that comes off that. "the older you get, if you don't grow to be wiser, you end up being more stupid than you were to begin with." Since coming to this site, i've grown to be more patient; to push myself at a "safe" pace; to slow down when I see that my gains are coming too fast.
