Hello My Dearest FitTribers,

It has been so long since I have blogged and I have missed you all so much. You see my friends, for the past few months I was in the mouth of a whale. This whale was the beginning of a new stage in my fitness career. It was exciting, it was rewarding but it captured all of my attention. Now I'm coming up for air.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

The holidays are my favorite time of year. It is a time for family, friends and fun. It is also a time to look forward to new beginnings and reflect on the past year. This year was a great year for me, I made the decision to move forward with my fitness career by branching off into fitness writing, online fitness videos with MFT and now working on public speaking engagements in a variety of settings. All of these things allow me to share my passion for fitness and motivation.

The holidays are often a time when we "fall off the wagon" when it comes to our fitness goals, but how do we get back on the proverbial wagon? First, don't be so hard on yourself (we are all human, no one is perfect). Second, make the decision to get back on. Today I had the wonderful pleasure of filming with Jamo for new MFT content. This filming was very special as it allowed me to introduce a segment that I have been wanting to present for a long time, "Yoga For Your Mood". If you include Yoga as part of your workout regimen you will begin to realize that Yoga can have a tremendous effect on your psyche as certain movements/postures generate energy, peace and confidence. Backbends/Chest Openers, Inversions and Twists are known for elliciting such benefits.

Last weekend I competed in my first national Bikini America contest. Overall it was a great experience ..the hair, the makeup, the people and the fun. It really was reminiscent of dress up when I was a little girl, I had the opportunity to glam up and show my sassy and feminine side on stage. I spend most of my days in workout gear, sneakers and little make up (being a personal trainer and all).

Wow, Wow, Wow!!!!!

Please note that this was my first time seeing a Cirque Du Soleil show but I was amazed. I had so much fun and I believe that any fitness enthusiast will appreciate the athleticism, passion and beauty that epitomize KA. The mastery of martial arts, the fluidity of rhythmic dance and the excitement generated from a wonderful musical score made this an adventure that I'll never forget. I couldn't help but admire the dedication and tremendous demonstration of cardiovascular fitness, strength and body control.

Today is my birthday, I'm turning 28. I'm spending the weekend in Vegas to see my first Cirque Du Soleil Show called Ka (a mix of martial arts, acrobatics and some of the finest demonstrations of athleticism in the world. I am so excited!!

Since I'm still dieting for the Bikini America Contest in 2 weeks, I am still eating healthy. I ordered scrambled egg whites, oatmeal and a banana (I also had some skim milk to keep my fat intake up to par, you see I lean out really fast so I need to keep consuming fat this week so I am not too muscular for the bikini category).

The heat is on, all hands are on deck and the engines are ready to roar. I'm getting ready for Bikini America in Vegas! Following the heels of a great FMI show that introduced me to this wonderful website and the world of fitness modeling, I just finished a week that was kind of a holding pattern for me until I signed the dotted line.
