is the minimum body fat percentage a guy can have and still be healthy.I have been searching and I believe it is 5-8% but I could be wrong.The reason I am asking is I can't really decide on a weight goal,I thought I would pick a body fat percentage and go for it.I thought I would set the goal as the minimum and then work toward it;if I liked the way I looked at a certain percentage I would stay at that.

measurements are you suppose to flex your arms and legs or not. I ususally do not flex when I measure.What is the best way or it really doesn't matter??

Body for life product.

I got my Body for life product;well actually I already had the EAS whey protein and Phosphagen Elite but I got the EAS advant Edge Carb control shake.Because for the other two I couldn't find my receipt and I just wanted to make sure I had proof that I used their product.You know by the chance I do win,I just want to be completely safe.It doesn't have any sugar,it tastes ok but it isn't Dairy Queen.I will only drink one a day,it will be my morning shake after work;plus it will save me the time of having to make a shake.So that is where I am so far.

Body for Life

I have decided to do the Body for Life challenge,hoping it will help keep me motivated to reaching my goals.I have started today actually and also I have started the diet Jamo created for me.It took a little time you know with waiting for pay day and bills but I finally have everything to begin the meal plan.My goal now is to be about 215-220 with 5% body fat if that is possible.Eventually I plan on joining the Air Force Reserves and I would like to be in the best possible shape before and not after I join.So let the challenge begin.

The 4th

Today all I ate was a serving of baked beans and 3 grilled hamburger patties. That is a big change from the usual 4-6 plates of barbeque ribs,hot dogs,hamburgers,potato salad,baked beans,cake & pie;I must say I don't feel like I am about to burst or guilty for eating.So maybe things have changed for the better,because holidays was usually my down fall.So one holiday test passed.
I hope every one had a great 4th.

Weight & Body Fat

I weighed this morning and the scale said 245 not 284 which they said on March 31.I know you not suppose to pay a lot of attention to scale but it does feel good to see the number go down.Also I checked my body fat on the calculator here as well as my FatTrack 2 calipers and they said around 18% which is a lot better than the 30 plus I was.So today is a very good day.

First for my cardio I ride my bike for 30 minutes outside,then I would do 30 yard sprint/walk for 30 minutes everyday.Also for the work out is the 1 set of 12 ok since I use the Total Gym and free weights or should I modify it?I realize I forgot to mention my routine which I was doing Mon,Wed & Fri.
Ab routine-2 x 20

Hanging Reverse Crunches
Crunches
Criss Cross

I should have explained my work hours & days better;I work Saturday,Sunday,Monday and Thursday's from 10pm-7am.

Actually I work overnight and I don't belong to a gym so my workout time is from 2-7pm.I use the Total Gym XLS,dumb bells and the bench.I am currently pairing exercises where I do a chest exercise then a back then rest for a minute then repeat.I would do that for biceps & triceps as well,for shoulders and legs I would just do supersets.All my exercises are 1 set of 12;since I use the Total Gym the weight changes but I use 20 & 50lb dumb bells and I bench with 215lbs.My cardio includes riding a bike for 30 minutes then doing 30 yard sprint & walk routine for 30.

I joined a couple of days ago and I have been a little slow about participating but here I am.The reason I am working out is because I would like to get to about 220lbs.;I am about 248 right now.Being 248 is an actual accomplishment to me since I haven't been below 250 since I was in junior high maybe even longer.I am 29 so you can see that is a long time to carry around all that weight.I will admit even heavy I was not just out of shape;I was always toned but I could never get below 250.All through going to the gym everyday doing hours & hours of cardio didn't get me below 250.Even when I got
