OKAY EVERYONE JUST GETTING READY FOR THE WEEKEND.... SO GLAD IT IS HERE!

It is a regular conversation that I have at the end of a clients workout... "We didn't work ABS". I always reply with yes you did the entire workout was core based. It takes several in depth conversations before they realize you cannot spot reduce fat!
Myth #1: Training the abs will give you a flat stomach.

Today I was sitting in my office waiting for my next appointment, a 12 year old boy. He had just moved here from Texas two days ago to live with his Dad who had just been given permanent custody of his son. So the two of them walked in and I was shocked to see this 12 year old boy that was about 65lbs overweight. I asked them both to take a seat and then the questions began. This sweet blue eyed boy wouldn't make eye contact with me he just had this blank stare as he gazed at the carpet.

Someone once asked Michelangelo the secret of his genius in sculpting from marble detailed, life- like images. "Rather than thinking about carving a statue out of stone," he said, "I picture in my imagination the completed work, in all of its exquisite detail. I then project the picture from my mind into the stone, where it becomes entombed, imprisoned within the stone. My job as the artist is not to carve an image into the stone but to free it from the stone. And this I do with passion because I know the image is already there, alive and breathing.

Q. "I've been lifting weights because I know it is good for me, but won't all those muscles turn to fat someday?"

Hey MFT I am so pumped about this site!! Just wrapping up my night here in Oklahoma City and am ready to get the rest of this week rockin.
