I weighed this morning and the scale said 245 not 284 which they said on March 31.I know you not suppose to pay a lot of attention to scale but it does feel good to see the number go down. Also I checked my body fat on the calculator here as well as my FatTrack 2 calipers and they said around 18% which is a lot better than the 30 plus I was.So today is a very good day.
Thanks Jamo,
First for my cardio I ride my bike for 30 minutes outside, then I would do 30 yard sprint/walk for 30 minutes everyday. Also for the work out is the 1 set of 12 ok since I use the Total Gym and free weights or should I modify it?I realize I forgot to mention my routine which I was doing Mon,Wed & Fri.
Ab routine-2 x 20
Hanging knee raises
Hanging Reverse Crunches
Crunches
Criss Cross
I should have explained my work hours & days better;I work Saturday,Sunday,Monday and Thursday's from 10pm-7am.
Hey my grandma has just been diagnosed with Type II Sugar Diabetes and asked me to come up with a daily healthy nutritional diet that will keep her full of energy and fighting that disease. She is 65 years old and lives in Florida and does a lot of outside work in the hot and humid weather of the sunshine state. She says she has never ever craved anything sweet until they put her on diabetic medicine and she now craves sweets all the time.
First off, i'd like to commend the MFT administrators for the constant changes of improvements to this site. I'm always supprised when I log on & find something new to discover. Great job guys!
Now, over the past year or so i've been going through some stuff - I know we all do - but either because of improper planning or sheer bad luck, I have not been able to maintain my dieting, training, or general goals. I'm not feeling sorry for myself, & i'm not looking for sympathy. I just wanted you guys to know because of your support over the past 2 years.
Hey everyone!
Just want to let you all know about some of the updates we have just made to the site to try and make it even better. Here's what's changed:
1. We upgraded the video section, to help you find videos better. Very soon we will also have the ability to search through them by category!
2. We have officially launched the Exercise Database! Check it out! We will be adding new exercises to it as time goes on.
Actually I work overnight and I don't belong to a gym so my workout time is from 2-7pm.I use the Total Gym XLS,dumb bells and the bench.I am currently pairing exercises where I do a chest exercise then a back then rest for a minute then repeat.I would do that for biceps & triceps as well, for shoulders and legs I would just do supersets. All my exercises are 1 set of 12;since I use the Total Gym the weight changes but I use 20 & 50lb dumb bells and I bench with 215lbs.My cardio includes riding a bike for 30 minutes then doing 30 yard sprint & walk routine for 30.
*Total Gym Exercises*
I really could have posted this as a comment on Reaching Your Goals, where I talked about hitting my old old goal of doing 40 push ups in one set, but I decided to post a whole new blog. When I first joined MFT, I put that one of my fitness goals was to do 50 push ups in one set. I did it today!
Yay! Its my birthday! I'm a 20 yr old baby today haha. No cake for me today, though I am tempted. I got money and birthday cards.
I joined a couple of days ago and I have been a little slow about participating but here I am.The reason I am working out is because I would like to get to about 220lbs.;I am about 248 right now.Being 248 is an actual accomplishment to me since I haven't been below 250 since I was in junior high maybe even longer.I am 29 so you can see that is a long time to carry around all that weight.I will admit even heavy I was not just out of shape;I was always toned but I could never get below 250.All through going to the gym everyday doing hours & hours of cardio didn't get me below 250.Even when I got
I am officially 19 days out from Teen nationals, My third and biggest contest of the year. Finally down from my post-contest bloat from my last contest which was the Musclemania Universe in Miami on June 20th. My contest weight for that show was 168 lbs(scales are always 5-7 lbs off) Lol but i am currently weighing in at 177 lbs as of this morning and looking pretty dry. As normal though just holding a bit in the normal areas( lower abdominals, glutes, hams, lower back) but not very much.
i was to my exam sunday 29th...and i didnt pass...
will you give me your opinion
my exam assignment was:
a 42 year old woman, who has never been to a gym before, who's worked in a supermarket for 12 years and have some tensions in neck and shoulders...
my program to her was a beginner's program like this:
chestpress 3x12
shoulderpress 3x12
legpress 3x12
lat pulldown 3x12
crunches 3x10
back extensions 2x12
3 different stretching exercises for neck
2 different stretching exercises for shoulders
When my daddy died I was going through a lot of his papers. He had the quote below written down on one side of a piece of scratch paper.
"When everything is said and done, be sure more is done than said."
On the other side it read:
"Don't let anyone steal your dreams!"
"Always forgive your enemies, nothing annoys them as much!"
That was 17 years ago.
I laminated it and carry those words in my wallet, but hold them in my heart.
I try to live by them, not because I have to, but because it feels right.
I am sitting here sobbing like a baby!
If you haven't seen this movie, rent THE BUCKET LIST.
It has Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman, and Sean Hayes in it.
The synopsis is that "two terminally ill men leave their hospital ward and set out to complete a list of things they want to do before they die."
It is a wonderful story and well worth you watching.
The kind of story that makes you laugh, cry, and think about the thousands of things we get too busy
to notice in life, and the journey we take for granted the most........is the one INSIDE OURSELVES.
Wow!.
Love and hugs!
Teri
