Vaccine Dangers - Part 1
A friend of mine called the other night and was frantic about the decision of whether or not to vaccinate their infant son. I don’t blame them for their concern; if I had a child I would be incredibly concerned as well. Despite the fact that the medical community believes vaccinations for infants are absolutely essential for disease prevention, there are a growing number of health care professionals who do not believe this to be true. The popularity of flu shots is also becoming a concern, as more people learn about the potentially dangerous toxins contained in some of these shots.
Model and actress, Jenny McCarthy appeared on Larry King Live to talk about her son, who developed autism immediately after being vaccinated with ten different shots. She was confronting a representative from the medical community who firmly believes there is no link between autism and vaccinations, and that her son’s autism could not have been direct result of this procedure because there is no “scientific data” that links autism to vaccinations. McCarthy was livid, and said as soon as her healthy son was vaccinated, he died in front of her for two minutes, and since then was never the same. She also said that she speaks with a thousand mothers a week who have had similar experiences. Her question was, “How is this anecdotal evidence not justified as scientific evidence when thousands and thousands of people are telling you the same thing over and over?” It’s interesting to note that McCarthy is not ANTI-Vaccine. She believes vaccines can be beneficial, but not in the way they are scheduled or with the amount of harmful ingredients they contain. Her biggest complaint was that in 1983 there were ten shots required for infants and in 2008 the number has more than tripled to thirty-six. She, like many others, believe that the chemicals in these vaccines places an enormous burden on a child’s developing system and are the main contributing factor to this disorder.
Since Jenny couldn’t get help from her own pediatrician, she sought help from a website community called Defeat Autism Now. Although her pediatrician ridiculed her and told her that their ideas were a bunch of “non-scientific-bull,” she proceeded to learn more about alternative treatment options, and then applied them to her son Evan. As a result, he was given a gluten and casein-free diet, vitamin supplementation, anti-fungals for yeast overgrowth that plagued his intestines, and treatment to detoxify him of metals that collected in his system.
"Once his neurological function was recovered through these medical treatments, speech therapy and applied behavior analysis helped him quickly learn the skills he could not learn while he was frozen in autism. After we implemented these therapies for one year, the state re-evaluated Evan for further services. They spent five minutes with Evan and said, 'What happened? We've never seen a recovery like this.'
“Evan is now 5 years old, and what might surprise a lot of you is that we've never been contacted by a single member of the CDC, the American Academy of Pediatrics, or any other health authority to evaluate and understand how Evan recovered from autism. When Evan meets doctors and neurologists, to this day they tell us he was misdiagnosed -- that he never had autism to begin with. It's as if they are wired to believe that children can't recover from autism.”
Another landmark decision in the autism-vaccine debate features federal officials of the United States government conceding that vaccines, given to Hannah Poling in 2000, aggravated a pre-existing condition that then manifested into autism-like symptoms. Hana’s father, Jon Poling, MD, PhD, is a neurologist who still believes vaccines can be beneficial. However, he and many other doctors do NOT believe Hana’s case as unique or isolated as the government thinks.
Let’s take a closer look at vaccines and try to shine some light on this dilemma.
Starting with basic logic, it seems to me that your skin is an important protective barrier between you and many harmful elements. Deliberately piercing that barrier and injecting potentially harmful chemicals into your system could indeed put you at risk for developing negative repercussions to your health.
Most flu shots, as most other vaccinations, contain some potentially dangerous elements like mercury and aluminum, which can build up in the brain and cause cognitive dysfunction, and also diminished immunity. Some experts argue that your risk for contracting Alzheimer’s disease will be ten times greater if you had five consecutive, annual flu shots. In addition, instances of certain autoimmune diseases like lupus, fibromyalgia, asthma, and many allergies have increased substantially since the introduction of vaccines to the public, which has further fueled the fire for speculation.
The medical community and the pharmaceutical companies claim vaccines are safer today because the amount of these potentially harmful ingredients has been “reduced” (not a very comforting statement for those of us who have had them over the last few decades). In fact, the usual justification for their use is that someone is exposed to greater amounts of these chemicals in the their everyday environment. While it’s true we may be exposed to carcinogens like mercury, aluminum, anti-freeze, and formaldehyde on a regular basis, it’s a bit different when you are injecting chemicals like these directly into your blood stream. It’s also worth mentioning that vaccines are made with animal parts, which is something we are never exposed to in a normal environment. Injecting monkey liver or embryonic chick cells into our bloodstream is not normal in any way shape or form.
One of the biggest reasons I am opposed to flu shots is that, like most conventional treatments, they only offer “band aid” solutions and never fix the reasons why we become sick in the first place. For me, the smartest, safest method for preventing disease and sickness is to create a strong immune system and healthy blood by making better lifestyle choices, which if you recall, is exactly what Jenny McCarthy did to help her son Evan recover from autism. We must understand that we will be much safer from disease if our immune systems are strong and our blood is clean and healthy. I am also living proof of this theory, as I have never had a flu shot and rarely get sick.
The following are some interesting quotes in regard to immunizations. Keep in mind that many of these people made these statements prior to the recent developments that have helped link autism to vaccinations. As a result they were labeled as quacks and ridiculed by the medical community:
According to Dr. J. Anthony Morris, former Chief Vaccine Control Officer at the FDA, (as quoted on independent websites), “There is no evidence that any influenza vaccine thus far is effective in preventing or mitigating any attack of influenza. The producers of these vaccines know they are worthless, but they go on selling them anyway.”
In his book, The Vaccination Superstition, Dr. John W. Hodge offers the following conclusion:
“After careful consideration of the history of vaccination, gleaned from an impartial and comprehensive study of vital statistics and pertinent data from every reliable source, and after an experience derived from having vaccinated 3,000 subjects, I am firmly convinced that vaccination cannot be shown to have any logical relation to the diminution of cases of smallpox. Vaccination does not protect; it actually renders its subjects more susceptible by depressing vital power and diminishing natural resistance. Millions of people have died of smallpox which they contracted after being vaccinated.”
Regarding the tetanus vaccine, a Dr. Murray states the following in the Medical Journal of Australia from March 19, 1959,
“I had an occasion, a few years ago, to review a great bulk of literature in the English language and some selected German translations on the subject. No evidence was found by me to suggest that tetanus antiserum had any value as a prophylactic agent against the development of tetanus following accidental trauma to humans. If any person, or the manufacturers, of this dangerous material have evidence to the contrary, the time is ripe to present the evidence for evaluation. In the absence of such evidence, tetanus antitoxins should be classed as both dangerous and useless, and its continued manufacture and prescribing as a pharmaceutical benefit for the purpose of prophylaxis against tetanus in humans a waste of public money.”
In an article called Vaccines: A Second Opinion, Gary Null and Associates state,
“A 1994 report by the Institute of Medicine concluded that there was compelling evidence that the live oral polio vaccine can produce paralytic and non-paralytic polio. Dr. Larry Schoenberger, a virologist with the Center For Disease Control, agreed, and said, “Polio caused by the vaccine has become more common than the natural virus itself.”
In his book, Immunization: Theory vs. Reality, Neil Miller reports, in 1956, soon after the Salk polio vaccine was introduced, officials decided to determine how safe and effective it really was. The results of this study, the now infamous, Francis Field Trials, would help determine the feasibility of continuing to vaccinate millions of young children. What they discovered would have stopped most ethical people from continuing:
“Large numbers of children were contracting polio after receiving the vaccine. Clearly, the vaccine was either unsafe, or ineffective. Instead of removing the vaccine from the market, however, officials decided to exclude from the statistics all cases of polio that occurred within 30 days after vaccination on the pretext that such cases were pre-existing.”
In an article entitled, Mandating Vaccines: Government Practicing Medicine Without a license? Dr. Jane M. Orient, executive director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, states the following,
“ The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), established by the CDC and the FDA, contains about 25,000 reports of adverse reactions associated with the hepatitis B vaccine, or to a vaccine cocktail that included hepatitis B. About one-third of the reactions were serious enough to result in an emergency room visit or hospitalization, and there were 440 deaths, including about 180 attributed to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome or SIDS.” According to a recent federal government study, she says, “Children younger than 14 are three times more likely to die or suffer adverse reactions after receiving hepatitis B vaccines than to catch the disease.”
These are some important examples of the concern many doctors and scientists have about the risk of vaccinations. So what is going on here? The mystery becomes less clouded once you take a closer look at the ingredients found in most of these vaccines.

humm very
interesting.... I can certainly identify with the overgrowth of yeast part in the organs...cause that happened to me as a result of antibiotics. The no gluton/ no yeast diet is very HARD! but I survived it as well.
Flu shots? don't get them because when I have in the past, I have gotten sicker.
Many shots I would agree for...such as polio, etc. My brother is a doctor and was also one of the first kids in Louisiana to get polio when it first came out. He is going through the post polio part now that is so sad.
So, all in all....guess it is a judgment call. I still think that for the most part....vaccines are meant to protect when used correctly. There are always risks with everything.
great article, look fwd to part 2.
