Beat the Heat with Healthy Summer Drinks

Chill out this summer with some freshly-squeezed, coolly-mixed, or frozen wonders. Though you might be compelled to reach for a beer or soda, stay hydrated by drinking water when you get thirsty. For more tasteful beverages, try a flavored iced tea mix. Avoid high-calorie mixed drinks by opting for a seltzer and spirits mixer.

You can even make your own Italian ice concoction using syrup, lemon, and crushed ice; jazz it up with lemon juice and fresh mint leaves. Blend your own smoothie with non-fat or low-fat yogurt, juice, ice, and fresh fruit. Add a tangy blast to all of your beverages with fruity ice cubes: just place slices of fresh fruit into the trays before the ice freezes.
