Stability Ball: Simple In-Home Workouts
Ladies – want a simple, low-stress, energy-boosting, calorie-burning workout? If you invest in a stability ball ($20 - 40) you’ll put the pep back in your step with very little time commitment. Just by doing some basic techniques two or three times a week, in 20 minute sessions, will have you feeling and looking better.
Here are two easy exercises to begin building a set with:
Trunk curl – Start with your lower back pressed into the ball. It should remain like this throughout the exercise. Gradually curl your trunk. As your shoulders and upper back move away from the ball, press your ribcage down to your hips. Finally, gradually return to your starting position.
Leg Lift – lying on your lower back, slowly grip the ball with your ankles. Slowly lift the ball off the floor until the point where you can hold the position with the ball between your legs. Gradually return to starting position.
There are various exercises you can do with a stability ball that can work not only your abs, but your entire body. Starting positions can be lying face down on top of the ball, lying with your lower back pressed against the ball, or lying on the ground with your arms or legs lifting the ball. Once you learn a few exercises, your routines will be interesting and exciting; you can challenge yourself with old exercises while maintaining tried and true aspects of your routine.

And the kids love it too...
I love my Swiss Ball for many many exercises, my favorite of which is the one-legged hamstring curl. (owie). But I also have a lot of fun bouncing the kids on the ball. It's pretty funny to watch my 5 year old daughter do back extensions "like daddy" on the ball.
Good article, but you forgot to mention it's good for the guys too. ;)
