Body type and meat consumption
There are three basic body types; endomorphs, ectomorphs and mesomorphs.
Endomorphs gain fat easily so they have to be very careful with their meat consumption especially red meat, as its full of saturated fat. A better choice for them would be to focus more on leaner meats such as chicken and fish.
Ectomorphs (they are all bones) are the hard gainers. They seem to be able to eat anything without putting excess unwanted body fat. You can call them lucky if their goal is not muscle gain, but unlucky if its weight gain. Ectomorph should focus on both however, in my years of training I have witnessed ectomorphs grow better eating red meat than white meat, but be sure to chose lean cuts of meat.
Mesomorphs are the third category. They have more muscle than fat or bone, we call them the lucky ones! They can consume more red meat, process the fat and gain the muscle without gaining too much body fat.
If you are a pescatarian, vegetarian or vegan, you are going to of course need to get your fat, iron and protein intake from other food sources such as fish, flax seed, tofu (soy), beans and nuts.
So make sure always to consider your body type before choosing your meat and food products.

Ectomorph
Man im an ectomorph for sure! I've been working out for about 2 months now and have only gained about 5 pounds. Although i look alot more muscular. So i appear to be getting alot more cut but i dont seem to be able to gain much overall mass, is their any way to gain more lean muscle mass now and maybe get it really cut later down the line?
Only 5 lbs???
Are you serious??? Bro, if you're an ecto & you've already gained 5 lbs in just 2 months of training, more power to you! If you're maintaining your cuts, don't fight it. Check out my new pics & you'll see what i'm talking about. By 10:20 am each day, I have a dozen eggs in my body as well as 1.5 cups of oatmeal with 2-3 bananas, etc. - 5 meals & 3-4 protein shakes a day... i've gained 1 lb in 3 weeks... My point? Relish in your small mercies... Keep at it!!
Food
In speaking with my coach the other day, he mentioned something about O positive blood type people being able to consume red meat to their heart's content. I guess being an ecto., even if the study of eating for your blood type is yet to be proven, means that no matter what I can eat beef all day, everyday. But how healthy is it for someone consuming alot of red meat over a long period of time?
My Thoughts Exactly
That's a question I've wondered for a while. (also I think my blood type is O)
I can eat pretty much whatever I want and not gain weight so I'm wondering if eating lots of meat would combat this.
Of course that raises the health issue about such foods in large quantities.
Would this course of action even work or would the body just not process the excess?
Most people say that moderation is paramount so I'm really not sure if it's very wise but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Another thing, does being an ectomorph mean having a really high metabolism or are the two unrelated?
